Chapter 190 The Future Spouse Decided by His Family

Without a moment's hesitation, Violet accepted Linda's generous offer for a ride back to Hellen’s apartment complex. As they journeyed, Linda found herself stealing a glance at Violet through the rearview mirror. She had always remembered Violet as being quite the attractive woman, albeit one who tended to dress modestly in professional attire.

Today, however, Violet was a vision of freshness and purity. It was no surprise that Brady had taken notice. Linda found herself averting her gaze after a few moments, reminding herself that it was improper to stare. She refocused her attention on the road, driving steadily until the car was parked securely beneath the apartment building.

It was evident that Linda had no intention of accompanying Violet upstairs. She stayed in the car, patiently waiting for Brady to descend. Meanwhile, Violet, driven by a pressing concern, practically sprinted from the vehicle, making a beeline for the elevator.

Violet was gripped by the fear that Brady's unexpected visit might be related to asserting custody over their children. Brady was a man of fierce, predatory nature, not easily deceived or fooled.

Even when the results of a paternity test were laid out before him, did he still harbor doubts. What could such a cautious and calculating man possibly be after? Was he really planning to take her children away from her?

As her fears spiraled, Violet rushed from the elevator to Hellen's apartment, too frantic to catch her breath before fumbling with her keys to unlock the door.

The scene that welcomed her was far from the frosty confrontation she had anticipated. Laughter and cheerful voices emanated from the living room—the voices of her children, Henry and Nicole.

Caught in a daze, Violet forgot to remove her heels and strode into the living room. The sight laid out in front of her left her speechless.

The man who had always carried himself with an air of unattainable pride was now sitting cross-legged on the floor, engrossed in playing with Transformers alongside the two kids. Henry and Nicole showed no signs of fear towards him. On the contrary, they seemed quite charmed by him.

The undeniable fatherly bond resonated throughout the room, leaving Violet both awestruck and fearful. She didn't want them to develop such a close relationship with their father.

Brady could never become the father they needed nor could they ever be a complete family. His future spouse was destined to be someone affluent chosen by his family, not a woman like her. Moreover, even if he wished to marry her, the idea seemed ludicrous.

Brady didn't truly care for her. His interest was purely physical. Determined not to let him take her children away, Violet was lost in her thoughts until Hellen approached her quietly and whispered, "Violet, you're finally back. What should we do?"

Violet snapped back to reality, patted Hellen’s hand reassuringly, and said, "It's okay, I'll handle it," before making her way towards them.

As she approached, the blissfully playing Henry and Nicole finally heard the click of their mother's heels and turned around. Seeing their mother, they both scrambled to their feet, rushing towards Violet for a hug.

Just as Henry, out of habit, opened his mouth to call her 'Mom'... Violet breezed past the others, assertively taking Brady's hand and said, "Brady, can you step outside with me for a moment?"

After speaking, she glanced at the two little ones rushing towards her and said, "Henry, Nicole, I'll be right outside, okay? I'll come back and hug you two in a bit."

Without waiting for Henry and Nicole to process what was happening, she quickly ushered Brady out.

Meanwhile, Hellen swiftly wrapped her arms around the two children and began speaking, "Henry, Nicole, did you forget what your mom taught you?"

Henry seemed confused, and Nicole even more so, her face a picture of bewilderment.

"Didn't your mom tell you to call her 'Auntie' in front of Brady, or else he would take you away?" Hellen instructed cautiously.

Finally remembering, Henry quickly nodded, "Hellen, I remember."

Nicole didn't quite understand, but she nodded in agreement after her brother did, obediently bobbing her head.

"When your mom comes back in, you should call her 'Auntie,' got it?" Hellen said.
