Chapter 862 Didn't I Tell You Not to Interfere

Inside the hospital.

Calliope's neck injury wasn't too serious, just a mild concussion. But clearly, Darian had hit her hard enough to cause it.

Violet was furious when she saw the test results.

But she had to keep her cool and not alert Darian.

She had always been cautious around him, but never truly disliked him.

However, after receiving that email from Eddy, she realized that Darian was behind everything. He had been squeezing JK out of the market and manipulating her into cooperating with him.

It was all for his gain.

Suddenly, Darian no longer seemed like the top student she once knew—kind, understanding, and hardworking.

He had changed, becoming someone terrifying.

Brady was right; Jade's disappearance might be connected to him.

He had framed Brady to push her towards divorce.

His calculated moves were truly frightening.

Violet clutched the test results, regretting her ambition that had let a wolf into her home.

It was too late for regrets now.

As Violet stood there, lost in thought, Darian walked into the ER to see Calliope.

Calliope had just sat up from the CT scan bed when Darian approached her, his expression calm. He looked her over and said with a slight frown, "Were you looking for something at my house earlier?"

"I wasn't looking for anything. I got lost," Calliope replied coldly.

"Were you looking for my teacher, Jade?" Darian asked, his hand casually in his pocket, his tone icy.

Calliope was taken aback.

Did he know? But she wouldn't admit it.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Don't play dumb. You know about Brady being at the police station, right? But let me tell you, you won't bring me down. Save your energy," Darian said, noting her shocked expression.

He was almost certain she had come to his house looking for Jade.

And what about Violet? Was she doing the same?

Darian suddenly couldn't tell if Violet's previous distress was genuine or an act.

"I'm not pretending," Calliope said, not wanting to waste more words on him. She touched the back of her neck and got off the CT bed. "But Mr. Voss, aren't you afraid I'll tell Violet you knocked me out?"

"And what if you do? Do you have any proof?" Darian retorted, staring her down. "Besides, Violet needs me right now. She won't turn against me."

He wasn't afraid at all.

Calliope had never met such a calm and ruthless man before. She didn't want to say another word, so she pushed past him and walked out.

In the afternoon, Violet returned to JK.

As soon as she arrived, Brady called.

He already knew she and Calliope had taken a risk by going to Darian's place, and he wasn't happy about it. "Honey, didn't I tell you to stay out of this? He's a madman."

"I didn't want to get involved, but I couldn't just do nothing," Violet said, feeling a bit wronged. "It was my ambition that let him in."

"Honey, I don't want you spending your days at the police station."

Hearing this, Brady's tone softened. He couldn't stay mad at her. "Come down, I'm waiting in the car in the parking lot."

"You're at the company parking lot?" Violet's eyes brightened, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Yeah, I got out on bail today, just had to go through the process," Brady explained.

"Okay, I'll be right down." Violet hung up, quickly gathered her things, and hurried downstairs.
