Chapter 917 Miles Hadn't Paid Much Attention to Violet
The brightly lit villa now only had Violet, Julie, and a male servant protecting them.
Originally, Violet was supposed to accompany Julie to the safe room.
But since it was around dinner time, they decided to come out first.
Who would have thought that the person trying to kill Julie would show up at the villa to provoke Brady and his team?
They chased after him, leaving the three of them in the villa.
Violet stayed with Julie for a while, but she had a sense that something was wrong.
Especially since Brady wasn't by her side, she felt completely unsafe.
Thinking it over, Violet decided it would be safer to take Julie to the safe room.
They could come out once Brady returned.
With that in mind, Violet stood up and said to the trembling Julie, "Julie, why don't we go to the safe room? I have a bad feeling about this."
Julie, having witnessed Dora's murder, was already terrified.
She feared that those people wanted to capture and kill her.
She didn't want to die; she wanted to live.
"Violet, shouldn't we wait for Brady and the others to come back?" Julie asked, glancing nervously at the night outside the villa.
"No need to wait. Let's go to the safe room first," Violet said, reaching out to pull her up.
Suddenly, there was a sound of steady military boots stepping on the floor at the villa's entrance.
The sound grew closer, step by step.
Violet turned around instantly and saw a strikingly handsome man in a gray-green military uniform, holding a black gun, walking steadily into the living room.
Following him was another man in a military uniform, with the typical strong features of Vesperia.
The two men entered one after the other.
The male servant guarding Violet and Julie immediately grabbed his gun to protect them. "Who... who are you?"
Miles slightly narrowed his piercing blue eyes, his gaze cold and unafraid as he scanned Violet and Julie, then shifted to the trembling servant.
He seemed completely unfazed by the servant's gun.
Instead, he raised his hand and signaled his subordinate to subdue the servant.
Miles then walked straight towards Julie, intending to take her away.
But Violet wasn't about to let him take Julie. She spread her arms to shield Julie behind her, blocking his approach.
Of course, she didn't want to stand there foolishly waiting to be captured.
But Miles had a gun, and she didn't want to take any risks.
She feared that Julie might get hurt.
So, as he stepped closer, Violet calmly waited until he was near, then decisively pulled out the delicate, small gun Brady had given her for self-defense from her waistband.
She raised it, aiming at the approaching Miles.
Miles hadn't paid much attention to Violet initially; his focus was on Julie.
But who would have thought Violet would dare to point a gun at him?
Miles had no choice but to direct his bloodthirsty gaze at her.
At the same time, beside them, the servant didn't even get a chance to fire before the strong subordinate easily subdued and knocked him out.
Now, only Violet and Julie, two vulnerable women, were left.
Violet had only learned how to use a gun from Brady that afternoon.
Now she had to shoot someone.
Her hand trembled slightly.
