Chapter 918 Miles Had Never Had a Woman Hold a Gun to His Head Before

"Give me Julie, and I'll let you walk away," Miles said, his piercing blue eyes flicking to Violet's trembling wrist.

He could tell she wasn't used to handling a gun.

His thin lips curled into a cold, emotionless smile.

"Not a chance. Drop that idea, or I'll shoot," Violet replied, trying to steady her shaking hand and keep her voice firm.

Julie clung to Violet's coat, her voice trembling with fear. "Violet, I'm scared."

"Don't worry, I'm here," Violet reassured her, though she was just as terrified.

The last time she felt this scared was back in Radiantia.

And she had never shot anyone before.

But in this situation, she couldn't back down. Julie's life was at stake.

While Violet was comforting Julie, Miles suddenly took a step closer, almost within arm's reach of them.

Violet's heart pounded, and her hand shook even more, but she forced herself to stay calm and not back down.

This standoff was wasting time, and Miles was not a patient man.

He hated wasting time, so he spoke coldly, "I'll say it again. Hand her over, and I won't kill you."

Otherwise, he might just kill Violet, too.

"Not a chance!" Violet was ready to shoot, even if it was just to wound his leg.

If this dragged on, she and Julie, two women, wouldn't stand a chance against these two men.

Just as Violet was about to pull the trigger and aim at Miles' leg, one of Miles' strong subordinates, who had already subdued the male servant, leaped over the couch and roughly grabbed Julie from behind Violet.

He locked his arm around her neck, immobilizing her.

Julie screamed in terror, "Violet, Violet, help me!"

"Violet!"

Distracted by Julie's cries, Violet turned to look at her, and in that moment, Miles lunged forward, grabbing Violet by the throat with one hand and trying to wrest the gun from her with the other.

Violet struggled to breathe as Miles' grip tightened around her neck, but she held onto the gun with all her strength, refusing to let him take it.

Miles was impressed by her resistance.

His grip on her delicate neck didn't loosen; instead, it tightened, showing no mercy.

Violet's breath became more labored, and she was on the verge of passing out.

With the last bit of her strength, Violet pressed the gun to Miles' temple.

She gritted her teeth and managed to say, "Let go of me, or I'll shoot."

As she spoke, she pulled the trigger slightly.

Miles had never had a woman hold a gun to his head before. Known for his invincibility, this situation felt humiliating.

His icy blue eyes narrowed with a mix of anger and surprise.

In that life-or-death moment, he released her neck.

But as soon as he did, he swiftly overpowered her, pinning her to the couch.

With his knee pressing into her body, preventing her from getting up, he coldly ordered his subordinate, "Take Julie to the speedboat. I'll be there soon."

The subordinate didn't hesitate, roughly dragging Julie out the back of the villa.

Now, it was just the two of them.

Violet was coughing uncontrollably from being choked, while Miles kept a firm grip on her arm and pressed his knee into her, showing no sign of gentleness.

Watching her struggle, Miles' blue eyes narrowed slightly. His voice was cold as he asked, "Are you Brady's wife?"
