Chapter 280 I'm Really Afraid He'll Force a Paternity Test Someday

"Is there something wrong with the kids?" Brady was sharp. He linked Violet's sudden departure to a potential family emergency.

"No, they're fine," Violet said, glancing at Nicole, who was staring blankly at her. Worried that Nicole might suddenly call her "Mom," she hurriedly added, "Mr. Hall, if there's nothing else, I really have to go."

"I'll come see you later," Brady said, hanging up before Violet could respond.

As soon as Brady hung up, Violet's right eyelid started twitching.

Violet was really annoyed. Why was Brady so persistent? He didn't genuinely want to be with her; he just wanted a woman around. Violet knew this all too well.

Biting her lip slightly, she felt a headache coming on.

Brady knew Violet's old address, but she had moved out, so he wouldn't find her there.

However, it wouldn't be hard for Brady to discover that she had moved.

Violet couldn't worry about that now. She was about to resign anyway, so she wouldn't have to be so submissive to Brady because of her job at JK. If he found out she had moved, so be it.

Violet decided not to dwell on it. Nicole was the priority.

She picked up Nicole and looked down the corridor, planning to check if the CT report was ready. Just then, Hellen arrived with Henry, who was drinking yogurt. They walked up to Violet, and Hellen immediately handed Nicole a bottle of yogurt.

"Nicole, do you want some yogurt?" Hellen asked.

Seeing Henry already drinking, Nicole naturally wanted some too, so she nodded obediently. Hellen inserted the straw into the bottle for her.

"Aunt Hellen, Brady is going to our old apartment later," Violet said.

Hellen looked puzzled. "Why is he going to our old apartment?"

"He heard Nicole's voice when he called me just now. He has always wanted to do a paternity test again," Violet sighed, sounding frustrated. "I'm really afraid he'll force a paternity test someday. He said he would send it abroad, and then I won't be able to fake it."

"Violet, it's okay. You're about to resign, so he probably won't really come," Hellen reassured her, believing that leaving the Hall Group would solve all problems.

But Violet wasn't so sure. As long as Brady suspected the kids were his, he wouldn't give up easily.

"Let's not worry about it now. Let's go check the CT report first," Violet said, feeling she needed to be more cautious in the future.

Hellen nodded.

On the other side of the city, at the boxing gym.

Brady quickly showered in the locker room, changed into clean clothes, and then headed to Violet's old apartment.

Having been to the apartment a few times, Brady was familiar with the way. When he reached the door, he rang the doorbell.

But no matter how long he pressed the doorbell, there was no response from inside.

Brady couldn't help but feel suspicious. He looked at the tightly closed security door, thought for a moment, and continued knocking.

After a while, the neighbor across the hall, annoyed by the continuous knocking, came out to scold someone. But when she opened the door and saw such a tall, handsome man, she was taken aback.

Brady was too handsome, and she couldn't help but stare.

After a moment, she composed herself and put on a warm smile. "Hey handsome, who are you looking for?"

"Are the residents here at home?" Brady asked, turning to the neighbor.

"They moved out long ago," the neighbor replied warmly.

Brady frowned. ‘Moved out? They were here just a few days ago. They moved so quickly?'

"Do you know where they moved to?"

"I don't know. They're a strange family. They don't communicate with us at all. I don't even know their names. I only moved here last year, so I don't know much," the neighbor replied.

"Okay, thank you," Brady said, pondering for a few seconds before heading downstairs.
