Chapter 668 Where is She?

"Violet, you're finally awake. I'm worried sick," Matilda said, holding her hand with a mix of relief and concern.

Brady had called her immediately when Violet was admitted to the hospital, and she had nearly fainted from the shock.

"Grandma, I'm okay now," Violet reassured her, feeling much better with the pain in her stomach gone.

"You need to rest and recover properly," Matilda advised, nodding firmly.

"Okay."

"By the way, Violet, how did you fall today?" Michael asked once Matilda had finished her instructions, still unaware of the details.

"I accidentally got bumped by someone," Violet explained, though she wasn't entirely sure how it had happened.

She had been heading back to the office after lunch when someone called her name. As she turned around, a young girl suddenly collided with her, causing her to fall.

The girl who had bumped into her disappeared right after the incident.

Violet wasn't sure if it was a deliberate act or just an accident, so she couldn't definitively say it was a setup.

"Who was that person? How could they be so careless?" Michael was visibly upset upon hearing the reason.

"Dad, it's okay. Maybe the girl didn't mean to," Violet said, trying to calm him down.

"It better not have been on purpose, or I'll have Brady find her," Michael grumbled.

"Michael, stop talking so much and let her rest," Matilda scolded, annoyed that her son was disturbing her granddaughter-in-law.

Michael, who was always a bit intimidated by Matilda, quickly fell silent.

Ava, whose relationship with Violet had only recently improved, stood quietly by, watching.

After standing around the hospital bed for a while, Brady noticed it was getting late and didn't want his elderly grandmother to stay up all night. "Dad, Mom, Grandma, you should head home. I'll stay here."

Matilda nodded. "I don't want to disturb Violet's rest. I'll come back tomorrow."

"Alright," Brady agreed.

Michael helped Matilda out of the room, with Ava following closely behind. Brady walked them to the door.

Once they were gone, Brady returned to the bedside, leaned down, and asked, "Tell me, who bumped into you?" He couldn't believe someone would just randomly bump into her at the entrance.

"I really don't know," Violet replied, seeing how seriously he was taking the matter. She smiled and added, "Maybe it was just an accident?"

"At the very least, if she bumped into you, she should have apologized. Where was she when I got there?" Brady remembered that when he arrived, only company employees were helping her, and no one was apologizing.

"Maybe she got scared and ran off?" Violet suggested after thinking it over.

She didn't believe it was a deliberate act of sabotage.

"I'll have someone look into it," Brady said, gently brushing her hair. "That person almost caused you serious harm and didn't even apologize before running off?"

Seeing that he was serious about investigating, Violet said, "Brady, that girl... she seemed to know my name. But I don't know her. I'm not sure if it was a setup, so I didn't want to make a big deal out of it."

"You're too soft-hearted," Brady said, shaking his head.

"I'm not soft-hearted. I'm just cautious. I don't want to accuse someone without being sure," she explained. If she were truly soft-hearted, she wouldn't have sent Gerry to prison.

Brady smiled, tapping her forehead gently. "You rest well. Leave this to me." Even though it seemed like a minor incident, the fact that the girl knew her name made it suspicious.

Especially since the girl had vanished.

Even if it was an accident, there was still something off about it.
