Chapter 794 I Can't Make a Move
After leaving Arthur's estate, Darian slid into the black Mercedes waiting outside.
As soon as he got in, Alaric, who had been waiting in the front passenger seat, turned around to face him. "Darian, JK sent another message. They want to know if you're ready to sign."
"Tell them to wait six months," Darian replied, closing his eyes to clear his mind. "If they're willing to wait, we'll sign. If not, no big deal."
Alaric frowned, puzzled. "Darian, why wait? What's the difference between signing now and in six months?"
He knew Darian had a thing for Violet, but that shouldn't affect the signing, right?
He was genuinely confused.
"She's pregnant right now. It's not the right time to make a move," Darian said, not minding revealing his thoughts to Alaric.
He opened his eyes slightly, his gaze sharp and intense.
It was impossible to tell what emotions were brewing in his eyes.
Alaric took a deep breath.
Was Darian planning to compete with Brady for her?
But their strengths were worlds apart. How could he possibly win?
Alaric didn't mean to belittle Darian, but the reality was that, despite Darian's impressive status in the fashion world and the wealth he had accumulated over the years, it was nothing compared to the power and wealth of a family like Brady's.
So Alaric was worried. "Darian, can we be a bit more rational about this? There are plenty of beautiful women out there. You don't need to go after Mr. Hall's woman!"
"Drive," Darian interrupted coldly, not interested in Alaric's advice.
Seeing that his persuasion was futile, Alaric sighed inwardly and instructed the driver to start the car.
The black Mercedes sped down the empty road.
When the red taillights lit up at the corner, Alaric called Wade from JK, informing him that they would discuss the collaboration in six months.
If they were willing to wait, fine. If not, so be it.
After the call, Wade was puzzled about the six-month delay but couldn't make the decision himself.
Since Violet was now a shareholder at JK, he immediately called her.
Violet answered, surprised at first, then asked, "Did he mention any other conditions?"
"No, just that it would take six months," Wade said, also puzzled by the six-month timeline.
"Has he discussed this condition with any other companies?" Violet thought for a moment and asked.
Wade took a deep breath. "As far as I know, no. I'm not sure what he plans to do in these six months. It could be for an international show or something else. They didn't give a clear reason, just this timeline. If we accept, we wait. If not, we lose the opportunity."
"Okay, I understand," Violet said, unable to figure out Darian's intentions.
Sometimes he seemed to hold grudges from the past; other times, he was very indifferent.
She really couldn't decipher what this six-month period meant.
"Should we wait?" Wade asked.
"Yes, it's only six months," Violet said, her ambition showing.
She wanted to improve quickly and take JK to the next level, not to let Brady down.
Even though she knew Darian might be problematic, she wanted to try collaborating.
Of course, she would inform Brady to avoid any misunderstandings.
"Alright, I'll let them know."
"Good."
With the matter settled, Violet hung up and returned to Brady and their child to continue their family photo shoot.
