Chapter 866 I Scold My Wife, Why Are You So Angry
Darian was waiting for her in his office.
As soon as he heard her knock, he straightened up and called out, "Come on in."
Violet entered and gently closed the door behind her.
She walked slowly to his desk, her eyes slightly red with anger. She wasn't about to cry; she was furious.
He probably had no idea what the other designers were saying about JK at the competition just now.
And what they were saying about her.
Because of his selfish desires, he was not only going to ruin JK but also her?
She couldn't lose her temper. She had to put on a hurt expression and speak in a hoarse voice, "Mr. Voss, did you watch today's live competition?"
Darian nodded and handed her a tissue from his desk. "Violet, don't be upset."
"I don't get it. I was well-prepared, and I don't think my design was bad. How could I be eliminated in the first round?" Violet took the tissue and dabbed at her eyes, pretending to cry.
"Those people don't recognize talent when they see it. How could they appreciate your genius?" Darian said as he walked around his desk and moved to place his hands on her shoulders.
Violet sensed it and immediately turned to face him.
"Can you help us?"
Darian looked at her, withdrew his hand, and forced a smile. "Of course."
Violet nodded, about to say something, when Brady's call came in right on time.
She answered it in front of Darian, "Did you need something?"
Brady's voice came through, full of anger, "I trusted you with JK, and this is how you repay me?"
Violet bit her lip. "I'm sorry, honey. I didn't expect to be eliminated."
Brady continued to shout, "No excuses. Do you know how much trouble you've caused me? We haven't even resolved Jade's issue, and now you're causing more problems for the Hall Group? I regret marrying you."
"Honey, I'm sorry." Brady's performance was so convincing, especially with the anger in his voice, that Violet almost believed it herself and was nearly scared.
"No more excuses. We're getting a divorce!"
At the mention of divorce, Violet started to sob, "You want to divorce me?"
"Yes, I'll have the lawyer send you the divorce papers."
As soon as he said that, Darian couldn't take it anymore. He grabbed the phone from Violet and coldly mocked Brady, "Mr. Hall, is this the extent of your patience? Violet gets eliminated from a competition, and you want to divorce her? Are you even a man?"
"You're a jerk. I haven't even settled the score with you about Jade, and now you're bullying Violet?" He added.
Brady, unfazed by Darian's cold mockery, replied just as coldly, "I'm scolding my wife, Mr. Voss. Why are you so angry? Are you hoping for our divorce so you can be with her?"
"Yes, I'm waiting for your divorce," Darian admitted, seeing no point in pretending anymore since they were going to divorce anyway.
Brady laughed coldly, "Even if we divorce, she won't be with you."
Darian scoffed, "Mr. Hall, let's see about that. But don't back out now. If you're going to divorce, do it cleanly and don't regret it."
Brady didn't bother to respond and hung up the phone.
The performance had gone as planned.
If he had continued to argue, it might have given him away.
