Chapter 947 Violet Is His Weakness

Brady had just left the base with Violet when Jesse knocked on Miles' door.

He needed to talk to him about this.

He knew that after all these years of pursuing revenge for Reuben, this sudden twist would be hard for Miles to accept.

He knocked three times.

Miles finally called out, "Come in."

Jesse entered and saw the man standing by the window. He sighed before speaking, "Miles, this is Reuben's personal business... We all know he had a girl many years ago, but she left him and disappeared."

"Reuben never married because of it."

"But who would have thought, the woman he waited for his whole life never returned, and in the end, he was killed by his own son."

Jesse paused for a moment before continuing, "Miles, I've arranged for someone to take care of Julie. Let's not bring this up again. Just take good care of her."

"If Reuben knew he had a daughter still alive, he wouldn't want you to kill her, right?"

"Jesse, you don't need to say anymore. I get it." Miles slowly opened his eyes, his voice cold, "They've left, haven't they?"

"Yeah, they have."

"Didn't want to say anything to me?" Actually, as he stood by the window watching them leave, he had hoped Violet would come back and talk to him.

However, the reality was that her heart only belonged to Brady.

"She just asked you to take good care of Julie."

Miles scoffed, his lips stiffening into a smile, "Jesse, you can go now. I want to be alone."

Jesse nodded, gave him a look, and left.

Miles continued to stare out the window, his fingers slightly clenched.

Violet, we probably won't ever have the chance to meet again.

He rarely admired a woman, and Violet was the first.

Unfortunately, they met at the wrong time. He was single, she was married.

It was destined to be impossible.

Outside the base, the moonlight hung high in the night sky, casting a gentle glow on the two as they sat in the speedboat heading back to their private island, as if draped in a thin layer of light.

Brady had originally planned to stay at the contact's house for the night after leaving the base, but considering this was Miles' territory, it was safer to head back to their island immediately.

Under the moonlight, the speedboat sped on.

Violet tenderly disinfected Brady's arm wound. The alcohol fizzed as it touched the wound, and Violet's heart ached, her eyes reddening, "Honey, does it hurt?"

"Do you think a man like me would complain about a little wound? Am I still a man?" Brady was amused by her, gently touching the top of her head.

So much had happened recently, and it had been a long time since he had been this close to Violet.

Violet, however, playfully teased, "Men can complain about pain too!"

But as she said this, she leaned in and kissed him, her eyes glistening, her voice soft, "Honey, I love you."

Brady felt his bones melt from her kiss, and he couldn't help but kiss her back, murmuring, "Honey, I love you too."

"These past few days have been tough on you," Brady continued.

Violet shook her head, "It wasn't tough. I wanted to do something for you, to show you I can help."

"Yes, yes, you have helped me." Brady felt touched but still wanted to scold her a bit, "Don't take risks like that again. I get scared and worried."

He was a man who had never feared anything in his life.

But now, things seemed different. He suddenly had many fears.

In the end, he understood what people meant when they said that when you fall in love, the other person becomes your most vulnerable weakness.

One touch could make you crumble and leave you feeling helpless.

Violet was his weakness.
