Chapter 134 Are You Crazy? Why Would You Get Physical?
"Loraine, just ten minutes, please?" Violet pleaded with earnest sincerity.
It was a heartfelt request, one that might have swayed Loraine if not for the mango cake fiasco that had caused such an uproar.
Loraine was no villain out to torment people on purpose.
But the mango cake incident had enraged her.
Now she was the target of online harassment, all because she missed that damned TV segment. Blackened on social media, people had been hounding and calling her a diva since yesterday!
How could she not be furious?
"Just stop, okay? Please leave," Loraine said, thoroughly annoyed, waving her away dismissively. She needed to escape inside.
Seeing Loraine heading for the door, Violet knew if she went inside, all chances of a conversation would be lost.
Without a second thought, Violet quickened her pace to catch up, but Leana, ever malicious, grabbed hold of her, "Have you no decency? She's made it clear she doesn't want to see you. What's with this desperation?"
"This is between her and me," Violet snapped back, finding these women who treated her as some kind of love rival utterly repulsive. She tried to push past her.
The women in Brady Hall's life were beyond exasperating.
Including her own stepsister.
If they were so enamored with Brady, they should chase after him themselves. Why bother her?
What did she have to do with their pursuits?
Was she stopping them?
Did she even care to intervene?
She had done nothing. Moreover, she'd lost any flicker of interest in Brady Hall long ago. She was more inclined to avoid him at all costs, yet they insisted on connecting her with him. Why were they so convinced she had to be associated with Brady Hall?
Violet Devereux's resilience caught Leana off guard. She had thought Violet, with her innocent and fragile exterior, would be an easy target, but Violet's fierce independence immediately infuriated her. Grabbing Violet by the wrist, Leana demanded, "You’ve got to come clean with me today. What exactly is going on between you and Brady Hall?"
"There's nothing between us," Violet replied, pulling away with such force that she accidentally shoved Leana, who stumbled back, her tall frame easily thrown off balance. It was a near fall that ruffled the feathers of Leana, a supermodel used to people fawning over her, not pushing her around. This wild woman, Violet, was the first to defy her so openly.
Fuming, Leana raised her hand to slap Violet, but Violet ducked just in time. Missing her target only fueled Leana's rage. She lunged forward, grabbing Violet's shoulder, and slammed her hard against the nearby SUV. The forceful impact came with Leana's venomous words, "You dare push me, you wretch? Where do you get the nerve? Let me make one thing clear: Brady Hall is my man, and if I ever catch you at his place again, I'll have someone break your legs!"
The collision sent Violet, smaller in stature, crashing against the SUV. A buzz shot through her head, her vision darkened, and the world spun until she fainted.
Loraine Plahn was shocked and scared. She had no real interest in Brady Hall — at most, her anger was just about a mango cake. She certainly never intended to harm Violet. Yet here was Leana, lashing out so violently.
Worried about a potential incident at her mansion, Loraine quickly moved to check on Violet. As she assessed the situation, she couldn’t help but reprimand Leana, "Tiffany, have you lost your mind? If you’re jealous, just say so. Why resort to violence? If it turns out there's nothing between her and Brady, how are you going to deal with the consequences of your actions?"
Unphased, Leana had no desire to linger at Loraine's place. With her arms crossed and her head held high like a haughty princess, she looked down at the unconscious Violet without a hint of remorse. "What's there to be afraid of? I've got a connection at the police department. So what if I hit her? I won't have a record."
"Enough of this," Loraine retorted disapprovingly. "I'm calling my doctor to come take a look at her." She wasn't as spiteful as Leana.
Although Leana wasn't fond of Violet Devereux,
She still had a shred of human decency.
Leana had no interest in saving Violet, she thought it’d be better if Violet just dropped dead.
Glancing up, she said, "I've lost my mood, handle this for me, will you? I'm heading back." And then, turning to the stupefied Uncle Road, she commanded, "Uncle Road, drive me home."
Uncle Road snapped out of his daze and, without delay, hurriedly chauffeured the formidable young lady back to her residence.
