Chapter 634 You Are The Best Gift

"Dad, thanks for being so understanding," Violet said, her voice full of gratitude.

She hadn't felt much care and affection in the Devereux family before. But here with the Hall family, she was getting all of it.

"Understanding goes both ways. You're the best gift our family could ask for—that's what truly matters to us. You're already wonderful, and I couldn't be happier to call you my daughter-in-law," Michael said, echoing Matilda's sentiment. He had longed to enjoy the joy of having adorable grandchildren around.

If Ava hadn't changed her ways, he had planned to take her back to America. But since everything had been resolved, he decided to stay a bit longer to spend time with his grandchildren.

"Thanks, Dad," Violet said, her eyes welling up with emotion.

"No need to thank me. I got some great coffee the other day. Take some to Hellen," Michael said, then turned to a nearby waiter. "Go get those coffees from the back."

The waiter nodded and eagerly went to the small storage room to fetch the premium coffee.

When she reached the storage room, the storekeeper, seeing her take Michael's prized coffee, couldn't help but ask, "Is Mr. Hall hosting guests or giving it away? Why does he need so much coffee?"

Each can of this coffee was worth thousands of dollars. And Michael wanted several cans?

"Of course, it's a gift," the waiter replied, urging him to hurry. "Mr. Hall is waiting!"

"So urgent," the storekeeper muttered as he fetched the coffee, then couldn't resist asking, "Who's it for?"

"Why are you so nosy? Mr. Hall's daughter-in-law is here, and he's giving it to her family," the waitress said, rolling her eyes at him.

The storekeeper ignored her eye roll, even more curious now. "Is Mr. Hall's daughter-in-law really that beautiful? I saw her photos online, she looks like a celebrity. Is she just as stunning in person?"

"Yes, she's very beautiful," the waitress replied, not wanting to waste time chatting, and left with the coffee.

She hurried back to the front, enthusiastically packing the coffee for Violet. Violet accepted Michael's kind gesture without hesitation.

Seeing this, Michael couldn't help but smile with satisfaction.

"By the way, has Ava reached out to you lately?" Michael asked, curious about Ava's recent efforts to be more understanding and humble.

Violet nodded, not hiding anything. "Yes, she has. She even bought a lot of things for Henry and Nicole. But I'm worried Nicole might get scared and faint if she sees her, so I haven't let her meet the kids yet."

"Nicole's situation will take time. She's still young and emotionally fragile. Let's give everyone some time," Michael said.

Violet understood. No matter how bad Ava had been, she was still Brady's mother. And Ava had shown enough sincerity in her apologies. Brady and the Hall family were all on Violet's side, so she chose to forgive Ava.

Of course, the extent of her forgiveness would depend on how Ava treated her and the children. She didn't want to be endlessly forgiving, but she also didn't want Brady to be estranged from his mother because of it.

"Come visit us more often, and bring the kids too," Michael said, clearly fond of his grandchildren. He hadn't enjoyed the feeling of having grandchildren around, calling him grandpa, in a long time.

"Sure, Dad, I'll come by often," Violet said with a smile.
