Chapter 871 Mr. Hall Is Innocent

Meanwhile, at the hospital.

After Jade was rushed in for emergency treatment, the doctors managed to save her life, but she had been unconscious for too long.

Even though she survived, she couldn't wake up immediately.

So, Jade couldn't testify for Brady, leaving him to handle the situation on his own.

When Dean turned himself in at the police station, he pointed the finger at Brady, claiming that Brady had orchestrated the whole thing, forcing him to kidnap Jade.

Despite the obvious holes in his story, Dean stuck to his accusations, and without direct evidence to prove he was lying, the police had to take his statement seriously.

But Brady wasn't about to sit back and do nothing.

After a brief conversation with the captain in charge of the case, Brady arranged for Dean to be placed in a separate interrogation room.

However, due to legal procedures, Brady couldn't meet with Dean alone.

He had to rely on Violet to talk to Dean on his behalf.

This was Violet's first time negotiating with someone at a police station, and the seriousness of the situation, especially involving Brady, made her extremely nervous.

But despite her nerves, she knew she couldn't afford to be careless. So, when she entered the interrogation room to speak with Dean, she kept reminding herself to stay calm.

Once she sat down, she quickly got into the right mindset and began negotiating with Dean.

"Dean, I found out you owe a lot of money to loan sharks. Did someone pay you to frame Brady?"

Dean glanced at her, his lips tightly sealed, refusing to speak.

Violet continued, "I know you're a man of your word and loyal, willing to take the fall for someone else. But have you thought about your family? Your wife just gave birth a little over two months ago. Right now, both she and your child need you the most."

"I'm also a mother who gave birth just over two months ago. I understand the need for family support during this time."

"If you take the blame for someone else, you could be facing a prison sentence of no less than five years."

"Do you want to spend five years in prison?"

Dean remained unmoved. "Mrs. Hall, I don't want to hear this. Please leave."

Violet took a deep breath and pressed on, "You know, if you go to prison, you'll miss out on all the important moments in your child's life. You won't hear him call you Dad for the first time. Dean, do you want that?"

"Do you want to miss the moment your son calls you Dad for the first time?"

"Do you want to miss him running to you, calling you Dad, and asking for hugs? Can you bear to let him grow up in a home without a father, being teased by other kids? If they bully him, he won't have anyone to protect him. Can you live with that?"

Her last words struck a chord with Dean.

He desperately wanted to be there for his wife and child, but he felt unworthy. He owed a lot of money, and if it weren't for Darian helping him out, he might have ended up crippled or worse.

Despite his guilt, he didn't want to falsely accuse Brady.

After a long silence, he finally spoke, "Mrs. Hall, thank you for saying all that, but people like us at the bottom don't have much choice. The world isn't as fair or bright as it seems."

"We're just trying to survive."

"As a husband and father, I feel sorry for my wife and child, but I did what I did." He took a deep breath and said, "I won't drag Mr. Hall into this. Mr. Hall is innocent."

"Mrs. Hall, please leave."

After speaking, Dean suddenly covered his face with his hands and began to sob uncontrollably.

It was the first time Violet had seen a man break down in front of her, and it left her deeply moved.

She didn't say another word, just pressed her lips together and watched him.
