Chapter 744 Don't Call Her Mrs. Hall in Front of Me
Violet stared at the message, feeling a bit shocked.
"Darian agreed to meet?"
Snapping out of her surprise, Violet quickly forwarded the message to Max.
She knew Max would take the lead during the meeting; she was worried that if she went alone, Darian might just walk out.
After sending the message to Max, Violet felt a wave of happiness.
A smile tugged at her lips as she began to flip through the design drafts on her desk.
'If we can bring Darian on board, JK would be unstoppable,' she thought.
Of course, she hoped Darian wouldn't remember the rejection from years ago and could be gracious about it.
Violet was thrilled to have received Darian's response.
Meanwhile, Darian, who had stayed in Crestoria and hadn't returned abroad, felt a different kind of satisfaction upon hearing from his assistant that he had been scheduled to meet with JK.
His eyes took on a calculating gleam as he twirled his design pen between his fingers.
He had deliberately kept her waiting for over three months, and she still had the patience to persistently deliver herself to him.
A playful smirk appeared on Darian's lips.
Back then, when he had pursued her, she either ignored him or rejected him.
Now, he wanted her to experience the frustration of chasing after something she couldn't have.
'This is gonna be fun, he thought.
It would also soothe the lingering bitterness in his heart.
"Darian, there's something else I need to report," Alaric, his manager, said, fully aware of Darian's thoughts.
He knew Darian was interested in JK's Violet.
So, he also knew that tonight Violet would accompany Emily to meet Lucien.
"What is it?" Darian asked, snapping out of his thoughts, his tone casual.
Alaric quickly reported with a grin, "Mrs. Hall from JK will also be meeting your friend Professor Moreau tonight."
Darian's eyes narrowed as he looked at Alaric, his handsome and somewhat arrogant face turning cold. "Don't call her Mrs. Hall in front of me. It disgusts me."
She would eventually marry him.
Then she could take his last name.
Darian rarely lost his temper, but when he did, it was intense.
Alaric didn't dare to anger him further and quickly nodded, "Understood."
"Leave me alone for now," Darian said, wanting some quiet.
Seeing Darian's expression, Alaric didn't linger and left the room.
Darian leaned back in his chair, gazing at the golden sunlight streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
The bitterness in his heart resurfaced, haunting him.
'The unattainable always drives one mad,' he thought.
In the evening, just before the end of the workday, Violet went downstairs on time to accompany Emily to meet Lucien.
Meanwhile, Brady, having spent three months dealing with Aiden, finally had some free time.
Some influential figures, aware of how Aiden had been crushed by the Hall Group, were eager to curry favor with Brady.
One of them, the CEO of a major real estate company in the south of the city, had a project Brady had been eyeing for a long time and invited him to his private residence.
Brady initially thought he was just being invited over for coffee and a chat about the project.
But he soon discovered that these old businessmen had quite the setup.
To avoid being reported, they had built an underground palace of debauchery in their old mansion.
It was filled with beautiful women, fine cigars, and premium liquor.
And all the women were naked, available for these old men to enjoy.
Brady was disgusted. He exchanged a few polite words with the CEO and prepared to leave.
The CEO, thinking Brady was unimpressed with the women who had been used before, quickly brought out a virgin.
He also slipped something into Brady's drink, which Brady unsuspectingly drank.
