Chapter 665 Asking for Help
Juniper was getting more upset the longer she thought about it. They left her mom alone at the Lawson Estate, while her dad and brother had gone all the way to Crestoria to acknowledge the daughter of his mistress.
What was this all about?
Why were her dad and brother acting this way?
And they were even planning to give Violet 20% of the company shares? Was that even reasonable?
Everyone knew how valuable Lawson Corporation's shares were.
Besides, she herself had never received 20% of the shares.
Why did her dad want to give Violet so much?
Was the mistress still around?
If the mistress tried to entangle her dad and force him to divorce her mom, what would happen then?
Juniper's mind was a chaotic mess, and she knew she had to do something to save her mom's marriage.
In her turmoil, Juniper couldn't help but call her mom across the ocean.
Now her dad and brother were siding with Violet.
No one cared about her mom, but it didn't matter. She would always love and support her mom.
Juniper called back to Eldoria, despite the time difference.
Helen had just woken up from sleep when she received her daughter's call. Despite her drowsiness, she spoke gently, "Juniper, why are you calling me so late?"
"Mom, I love you," Juniper said, unable to hold back her sadness.
"What's wrong? Why are you saying this all of a sudden?" Helen rubbed her eyes, puzzled.
"Nothing, I just miss you."
"I heard from the company that you went to Crestoria? What's going on?" Helen had been meaning to ask her.
Juniper had suddenly gone to Crestoria, just like her husband and son.
She had left without a word, saying she was on a business trip.
And she hadn't come back yet.
"Yeah, I went," Juniper replied, her voice choked.
"Why did you go back? For fun?" Helen knew her daughter well. She had just graduated from college and loved to have fun.
"No, I went for business." Juniper didn't want to immediately tell her mom about her dad's affair. She paused and said, "Mom, can I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
"If Dad betrayed you, what would you do?" Juniper asked tentatively.
Helen was taken aback. This question coming from her fun-loving daughter was as shocking as the ninth wonder of the world. Helen thought for a few seconds, sensing something was wrong.
"Juniper, why are you asking this? Did you find out something about your dad?"
"No, I'm just asking."
"Juniper, you're my daughter. You wouldn't ask this without a reason. Tell me, did you find out something?" Helen was wide awake now.
She sat up in bed and pressed for answers.
"Really, no. I just thought of it and asked. Mom, tell me, what would you do?"
Helen was silent. "If your dad really betrayed me, there's nothing to say. Divorce."
So she really would divorce him.
After all, her mom loved her dad so much. How could she tolerate such a thing?
Juniper understood and forced a smile, saying, "Mom, I'll hang up now. I was just asking randomly. Don't take it seriously."
She didn't wait for Helen to ask more questions.
Juniper hung up the phone.
She then sat in her seat, feeling miserable, waiting for Violet and Ava to finish their meal. Ava dropped her off at the Hall Group entrance and left.
Juniper followed quickly.
"Ms. Devereux, wait a moment."
Violet was about to step into the Hall Group building when she heard someone calling her. She instinctively turned around and saw a delicate-looking stranger running towards her.
The girl's face was pale.
She ran towards Violet, who frowned as she watched her.
As Juniper got closer, she intended to stop, but she was running too fast and couldn't halt in time. She crashed heavily into Violet.
Violet was caught off guard and fell hard onto the marble floor.
Instantly, a sharp pain hit her abdomen. Violet clutched her stomach and called out to the people passing by, "It hurts. Help me. Call an ambulance."
