Chapter 657 No One Dares to Belittle Her

James stayed in the hospital for another week, gradually recovering. As soon as he felt well enough, he wanted to see Violet.

Violet, having promised Ethan she would meet James, didn't hesitate. Early in the morning, she made some soup and brought it to James's hospital room.

James, now able to sit up, was visibly moved when he saw Violet walk in with the soup.

Seeing his father's emotional reaction, Ethan quickly intervened, "Dad, the doctor said you need to rest and stay calm."

Violet added, "You shouldn't get too emotional."

James nodded, his eyes bright as he looked at Violet. She was the spitting image of Evelyn, which made his heart ache. "Violet, can I call you that?"

Violet nodded, placing the soup on the cabinet beside him. "Of course."

"Good," James said, relieved.

It seemed Violet didn't completely reject him, which he had feared.

"This is some soup I made for you. Try it," Violet said, opening the lid and pouring some into a small bowl.

The soup was light but nutritious, perfect for someone recovering.

"You made this for me?" James was surprised and touched, feeling emotional again.

"The hospital food isn't very nutritious, so I brought this," Violet said gently, though she was a bit nervous inside.

Despite everything he had done to her mother, he was still her biological father.

"Thank you," James said, wishing he could get out of bed to taste the soup immediately.

But he couldn't get up just yet.

"Dad, stay calm," Ethan said, seeing his father getting emotional again.

James smiled and nodded, "Okay, okay, I know."

"Why don't you try some and see how it tastes?" Violet handed him the bowl. James, who had always been used to the fine dining of the Eldoria elite, didn't hesitate.

He took the bowl and drank deeply.

The soup made by his daughter tasted wonderful.

As James slowly enjoyed the soup, Ethan watched with a slightly helpless smile. He then gently patted Violet's shoulder and said, "Violet, I need to talk to you. Can we step outside for a moment?"

Violet nodded. "Sure."

Ethan arranged for an assistant to stay with James and then led Violet outside to talk.

In the hospital corridor, Ethan didn't want Violet to misunderstand and think his father had wronged her mother. He decided to tell her the truth James had shared with him.

"Violet, I want you to know that my father didn't betray your mother. They loved each other very much, but they separated due to some conflicts."

Violet was stunned, surprised by this revelation.

No betrayal?

Then how was Ethan older than her?

Ethan, understanding her confusion, explained everything in detail.

When he finished, Violet's eyes were red with emotion.

Seeing this, Ethan gently wiped away her tears. "Violet, I hope you won't blame my father."

He believed that the issues of the previous generation shouldn't cause conflicts between them.

After a pause, he continued, "My father plans to give you 20% of Lawson Corporation's shares."

Violet frowned. "That's not necessary. I don't need it."

"You do. You're Brady's wife now, and the Lawson family will be your strong background. No one will look down on you," Ethan said. He had researched online and knew people were belittling her background.

They thought she was born to a nightclub hostess.

They believed she didn't deserve to marry into a wealthy family.

But now, as the second daughter of the Lawson family, no one would dare to look down on her.
