Chapter 958 Clearly Still Has Him in Her Heart, Yet Insists on Finding a Substitute
The next day, Violet didn't go to work. She got up early to pick up her baby and bring her home.
Her little princess hadn't seen her mom for several days. When Violet came to hold her, the baby didn't immediately show excitement. But once she was nestled in Violet's arms, she smelled the familiar, faint scent of milk on her mother.
The baby instinctively felt the safety and comfort of her mother's love, like a fish returning to the sea, and began to giggle excitedly at Violet with uncontrollable joy.
She smiled as her beautiful, big eyes curved into little crescent moons, so adorable that Violet couldn't resist kissing her.
Holding her baby, Violet felt a deep, tender softness in her heart. She showered her little one with affectionate kisses on her forehead.
Matilda, sitting nearby, watched them with loving eyes, feeling an incredible sense of happiness. "Violet, you finally decided to have the wedding. Your mother-in-law and I discussed it and decided to give you a card. You can buy whatever you want."
As Matilda finished speaking, the maid who was attending to her promptly handed Violet a card with $5 million on it, which Matilda had prepared.
However, Violet was hesitant to accept the money. "Grandma, Brady and I have money. You don't need to give me this."
Matilda pretended to be upset. "That's different! Your money is yours, but this is a gift from me and your mother-in-law for the wedding."
"If you don't accept it, I'll be very unhappy!"
Seeing Matilda's stern expression, Violet quickly smiled and said, "Grandma, if you put it that way, then of course I'll accept it."
"Good, take it."
Violet obediently took the card and continued chatting with Matilda about the wedding arrangements before heading home.
She had an appointment with Emily in the afternoon to try on wedding dresses.
After bringing the baby home, Violet fed her, put her to sleep, and then left the house.
Emily was already waiting in the car when Violet came out.
Violet got into the car with her bag, and Emily glanced at her, suddenly feeling a bit embarrassed. "Violet, I'm really sorry. You're busy with your wedding, and here I am, burdening you with my problems."
"Maybe we should talk about my issues after your wedding? It won't make much difference to wait a few days."
"It's fine. Your problems won't affect me. Besides, you've always been there to help me. If I ignored you now, what kind of friend would I be? And... I'm worried you might impulsively agree to something." Violet knew her well.
Even though Emily still had feelings for Lucien, she was trying to find a replacement.
Would she really be happy?
Violet didn't want her to make a rash decision about getting engaged.
"No, I won't be impulsive," Emily said, just feeling a bit troubled.
"Let's go to the bridal shop first. We can talk more there," Violet said, gently rubbing Emily's shoulder to help her relax.
Emily nodded, withdrew her gaze, and started the car, heading to the bridal shop.
Violet's chosen bridal shop was a newly opened high-end studio in the luxurious commercial district.
This studio catered to high-end clients, ensuring that their wedding dresses were unique and memorable.
When Violet and Emily arrived at the studio, the manager, aware of Violet's status, greeted them with special respect and led them to the most secluded VIP room to try on dresses.
"Mrs. Hall, our studio has just received three new wedding dresses. One is designed by Valoria, and the other two are spring-summer collections by renowned high-end wedding dress designer Pierre. There is only one of each in the world, and our studio managed to secure them."
"Mrs. Hall, would you like to see these three dresses?"
"Sure, bring them out. I'll try them all," Violet said, pulling Emily to sit on the nearby sofa.
The manager quickly instructed the staff to bring the dresses.
