Chapter 964 Unexpectedly, Brady Actually Knows This Place
"Let's get outta here," Brady said, giving her a quick, flirty smile before moving away from the restaurant entrance. It was too crowded, with people constantly coming and going.
"Where to?" Violet asked playfully, following him to the car without a second thought.
Brady had driven himself today, no chauffeur in sight.
As soon as Violet settled into the passenger seat, memories of their last wild ride in the car came rushing back, making her blush and her throat dry. She looked out at the neon lights flashing by. "You're not planning a repeat of last time, are you?"
Brady was starting the car and didn't catch her drift. "What last time?"
"Don't play dumb!" Violet shot him a red-faced glare, her voice soft but accusing.
Brady genuinely didn't get it. He hadn't been thinking about car sex, so it didn't cross his mind.
"I really don't know... What are you talking about?" Brady asked, one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding hers.
Violet thought he was pretending not to know. She turned to look at him. In the dim, narrow space of the car, his well-defined profile looked normal, not joking. Maybe he really didn't know what she meant?
Better not to say anything, she decided—no need to invite trouble.
"Nothing. Where are you taking me?" Violet quickly changed the subject, pushing away her earlier 'dirty' thoughts.
"I'm curious, what were you going to ask me?" Brady wasn't letting it go, a slight smile playing on his lips as he pressed for an answer.
Violet would never admit it. She pursed her pink lips and said casually, "Nothing, I was just talking nonsense."
Brady glanced at her, his smile widening. "Sweetheart, you didn't think I was planning on car sex, did you?" Now he got it, guessing what Violet had meant.
Violet had hoped to brush it off, but Brady figured it out. Her face grew even hotter. "No, of course not!"
"Do you want to? If you do, I'm game!" Brady teased, his voice low and suggestive. "The back seat is deeper, more comfortable."
Violet's ears felt like they were about to explode. She quickly covered his mouth with her hand, blushing furiously. "Stop it."
"Or I'll go home right now!"
"Okay, I'll stop," Brady said, knowing when to quit. He switched to a more serious topic. "By the way, Mr. Roberts found me in the restaurant bathroom earlier."
Mentioning Austin, Violet was curious. "What did he want?"
Brady let go of her hand and pulled a business card from his suit pocket, handing it to Violet. "He gave me his card, invited me for coffee."
"Do you still think he's a straightforward guy?"
Brady wasn't accusing Austin of being dishonest, but his instincts told him something was off. "He seems a bit fake to me."
"You can't judge him just on that," Violet said. She didn't know Austin well, but he seemed okay from their brief interaction.
"I know, but he doesn't seem genuine," Brady said. He wasn't one to meddle, but Emily was Violet's best friend, and he wanted her to be happy, not deceived. "I think Emily should be cautious and get to know him better before deciding. Just don't be too direct about it."
Violet nodded, slipping the card back into his pocket. "Got it."
Brady was very accurate at judging people. She hadn't seen through Darian as clearly as he had. If he thought Austin was questionable, she'd warn Emily.
They sat quietly as the car moved smoothly through traffic. Fifteen minutes later, they arrived at an elegant hotel that looked like a spa.
Brady parked and unbuckled his seatbelt. "We're here."
Violet glanced outside, her face heating up again, her voice trembling. "You brought me here at this hour?"
She recognized the place, not from personal experience, but from Emily's stories about a local romantic spa hotel known for its adventurous themes. It was supposed to be quite the eye-opener.
She hadn't expected Brady to know about it, let alone bring her here!
