Chapter 693 You Have to Believe Me
Hearing Ethan's awkward voice, the couple immediately separated from their sweet embrace.
Violet stood up and looked at Ethan. "Ethan, is there something you need?"
"I came to discuss something with you and to visit Juniper's savior." Ethan, regaining his composure, slowly walked over to Brady's bedside and sincerely thanked him. "Brady, thanks for helping Juniper. The Lawson Corporation will never forget this kindness."
"It was nothing," Brady replied casually. He had only helped because of Violet.
Ethan smiled warmly. "Brady, it was far from nothing. It was a huge favor. Because of this, the Lawson Corporation would like to discuss a $20 billion business deal with you."
Brady's lips twitched into a smile. "That's quite a favor."
"It's well-deserved," Ethan continued. "Additionally, the Lawson family is willing to accept Violet. We will still give her the 20% shares as promised."
Violet, listening from the side, was a bit taken aback. "Mrs. Lawson won't mind?"
Ethan shook his head. "No, you are part of the Lawson family too."
After a pause, Ethan, worried that Violet might refuse, added, "Dad wants to give you a formal status. You will be the sister of Juniper and me."
Violet fell silent. She didn't want to get involved with the Lawson family.
"Violet, let Dad do something for you and your mom," Ethan urged.
Violet thought for a moment, realizing she couldn't avoid this. She suddenly said, "If you insist on giving me the 20% shares, I want to use them to establish a children's relief foundation in my mother's name, to help impoverished and helpless mothers and children."
"Would you agree to that?"
She had no desire for money; Brady provided more than she could ever use.
"Violet, that's a wonderful idea. Doing charity in your mother's name will make everyone grateful to her," Ethan said, impressed by Violet's selflessness.
She had no greed for money and only wanted to do charity.
He admired Violet more and more.
"If you have no objections, then I can accept."
"No objections. I'll discuss it with Dad when I get back."
"Alright."
"Then I won't disturb Brady's rest. I'll come back tomorrow," Ethan said, noticing Brady's look that seemed to suggest he had overstayed his welcome.
"I'll see you out," Violet offered.
Ethan quickly waved her off. "No need."
With that, he left.
"Honey, come here. I want some porridge," Brady said, smiling affectionately at Violet now that Ethan was gone.
"Okay, I'll get it for you." Violet turned and poured the porridge from the thermos into a small bowl, then sat down to feed him.
Suddenly, a bodyguard rushed in, knocking on the door.
Brady was annoyed at being interrupted during his alone time with Violet and was about to scold him when the bodyguard hurriedly said, "Mr. Hall, Eileen bit her tongue and committed suicide at the police station."
"Do you need to tell me about her suicide?" Brady was displeased.
What was the point of reporting such trivial matters to him?
The bodyguard, sensing Brady's displeasure, continued, "Before she died, she accused Mrs. Hall of the crime."
Both Brady and Violet frowned at this.
"She secretly recorded Mrs. Hall hitting her," the bodyguard explained. "When we took her to the warehouse, we didn't search her thoroughly. We only took her phone, but she had hidden a recording device."
Violet, much calmer than the bodyguard, said, "She wanted to drag me down with her even in death. What a troublemaker."
The bodyguard nodded. "The police might come to investigate Mrs. Hall."
Brady was furious. "How could you not handle this properly and then report it to me?"
"Brady, don't be angry. Let me handle this," Violet gently reassured him. "Give me a chance to deal with it myself, okay?"
Brady looked at her. "Can you handle it?"
Violet nodded. "Yes, trust me. This is my mess. I will take care of it."
Brady finally nodded. "Alright."
