Chapter 164 What Woman Wouldn't Be Tempted By Such an Opportunity?

While Violet Devereux was pondering over meeting with Emily's cousin the lawyer, Oliver decided it was time to approach Lilian Devereux.
He was still fuming about Brady Hall’s humiliation. He was craving revenge and wasn't foolish enough to confront Brady directly. Instead, he'd use Lilian Devereux as his scapegoat.

He knew Lilian had been harboring a secret crush on Brady Hall. But with so many women always vying for Brady's attention, Lilian didn't stand a chance.
If she found out that Violet Devereux was now keeping company with Brady Hall, she'd lose her mind.

Hence, Oliver shrewdly asked Lilian Devereux to dinner.

"Lilian, it's been ages, and wow, you just keep getting more beautiful," Oliver said, casually without rushing into the topic of Violet Devereux. He attentively poured Lilian a glass of red wine, his flattery at full tilt. "You know, with your looks, you could give Hollywood a run for its money."

Lilian knew she was attractive, so the compliment had her preening, tossing her long hair with a coquettish laugh. "Oh, Oliver, stop teasing me. How could I even compare to a movie star?"

"I swear, you're more stunning than any actress in Hollywood," Oliver continued his charm offensive.

She beamed brighter, swirling the wine in her glass. "Oliver, with compliments like that, you must want something from me, huh?"

She hardly saw Oliver once a month.

And today, out of the blue, he was lavishing her with praise.

Definitely something up.

"Lilian, you're as sharp as they come!" Oliver laughed heartily, his expression animated.

Exceptionally grotesque.

"Out with it, what do you want?" Lilian sipped her wine, prompting him.

"Just the other day, I bumped into your sister," Oliver said, taking a leisurely sip of his wine. "Guess who else I saw?"

"Who?" At the mention of Violet, Lilian bristled.

"Mr. Hall, our billionaire heartthrob in New York, the very muse every woman yearns to claim."

Brady Hall? Lilian was taken aback, her expression quickly turning furious. "You actually saw them?"

"Yeah, they seemed... close?" Oliver didn't dare spill everything, fearing that if Lilian blew up and he got outed, it would be a loss too great. Better to let her guess.

She was smart enough to figure it out.

"Seriously?" Lilian's brows knitted tightly, flames nearly visible in her eyes.

That witch, didn't she swear she wouldn't chase after Brady Hall?

And now this?

"Why would I come here just to fool you?" Oliver raised his right hand as if taking an oath.
With his solemn tone, Lilian found herself believing him, her anger intensifying.

Slamming her glass onto the table, she resolved to confront Violet Devereux tomorrow for some clarity.

Meanwhile, atop the skyscraper in the Hall family's executive suite, the attractive man lounged in a black office chair, idly spinning a matching black pen in his hand while on the phone with Arthur: "Clear some time next week to take a trip to the old town for a few days, to celebrate Loraine’s engagement."

"You're inviting me to your cousin's pre-wedding getaway? How dull," Brady Hall remarked disinterestedly.

"Looking to meet some ladies?" Arthur chuckled lowly on the other end. "It's a golden opportunity. The old town's charm and romance are irresistible ."

Brady Hall finally caught on, letting out a light laugh but saying nothing more.

"So, you in or out?" Arthur pressed.

"I'll go," Brady decided.

"Great, I'll book the flights," Arthur said crisply before hanging up.

Brady found himself contemplatively pondering the idea of taking Violet Devereux on this quaint old town trip.
