Chapter 640 A Young, Handsome Man

Brady's brows furrowed slightly as he walked over to Violet. He pulled out a chair with a smooth motion and sat down. Violet heard the noise and instinctively looked up.

She almost choked on her soup.

Violet quickly swallowed her soup, her eyes wide with a hint of panic. "Brady, what are you doing here?"

"I wanted to have lunch with my wife, but she told me she had to work late. And yet, here she is, having lunch?" Brady didn't seem particularly angry, but there was a subtle hint of jealousy.

He knew Violet wasn't the type to dine at such a fancy restaurant alone, especially after turning down his invitation.

"I... I really was working late. I just met with a client, but he had to leave early," Violet stammered, afraid to tell him she had been dining with a stranger.

She feared he would be angry and jealous.

"Really?" Brady looked at her, half-believing.

Violet bit down on her silver spoon and forced a big smile. "Really. How could I lie to you? I swear."

Seeing her sincerity, Brady's furrowed brows relaxed a bit.

He smiled slightly and said, "No need to swear. Since your client left, how about I join you for lunch?"

Violet nodded. "Sure, what else would you like to eat? We've already ordered quite a bit."

Brady glanced at the dish Ethan had been eating earlier. Ethan had poured high-quality caviar over his steak, a method more common abroad.

People here usually wouldn't eat like that.

Was her client... a foreigner?

Brady pondered for a moment, then looked at Violet, who was sitting across from him with a flattering expression. Something felt off.

But Brady didn't say much. He pushed aside the plates on the table and picked up the menu to order more food.

He stayed and had lunch with Violet.

After they finished eating, Brady went to the front desk to pay the bill while Violet waited nearby.

As he paid, Brady asked the cashier, "Do you remember the person who was dining with my wife earlier?"

The cashier knew he was Brady, the CEO of the Hall Group.

She didn't dare to be negligent. Glancing at Violet not far away, she quickly replied, "The person dining with Mrs. Hall was a very young, handsome man."

"A young, handsome man?" Brady raised an eyebrow, feeling a twinge of jealousy.

The cashier continued, "He sounded like he had just returned from abroad, and his accent was a bit like Eldoria."

"Alright, I understand." Brady didn't ask further.

Recently, JK hadn't received any international orders, so who was this man with the Eldoria accent?

Meanwhile.

James left the hotel with his only assistant and took a cab to the Devereux Mansion.

He wanted to see if Violet was still with the Devereux family.

Or rather, he wanted to know more about Violet's situation.

They arrived at the Devereux Mansion, but the family had fallen on hard times.

Gerry was in prison, and Lilian was also incarcerated.

The only ones left were Gerry's mother, Pelinka, and Eileen.

These two spent their days in tears, trying to find a way to get Lilian out.

When James came looking for Violet, Eileen heard he was there to see Violet and immediately started yelling at him. "Who are you? Looking for Violet? What's so special about that bitch? Can't you see how she ruined our family? If you want to find her, go somewhere else. We can't have her here anymore!"

Eileen stood with her hands on her hips, shouting.

James's assistant was about to reprimand her, but James waved him off, signaling him to stay quiet. The assistant held back and didn't confront her.
