Chapter 193 The Secret She Guarded

Simultaneously, on the other far side of the city, near the secluded Harbor Bay, Aiden found himself ensconced in the back of a black Rolls-Royce. His gaunt, stoic face stared out at the unfinished Harbor Bay through the car window.

Aiden had long coveted this plot of land, but it was the property of the Hall family. He had always sought an opportunity to acquire it for himself, but Brady Hall always seemed to be one step ahead. Like the time Brady had outmaneuvered him, acquiring a local clothing factory that Aiden had set his sights on.

Brady had since gained complete control over the port area. If developed correctly, it could become a significant freight hub for other cities. For someone like Aiden, who aspired to extend the Hall family's influence, this was an empowering prospect.

The thought of transforming this area into a world-class freight hub tantalized him. He could easily suppress their rivals, the White and Calvin families with such a powerful asset. The more Aiden contemplated, the more he recognized the situation's gravity.

‘He can't let the Hall family swallow him up,’ Aiden thought, his hawk-like eyes narrowing, and his slender fingers curling into a tight fist. He was not one to back down.

"I'll find a way to dismantle this deepwater port freight operation," he muttered under his breath.

After a moment of contemplation, Aiden commanded the driver in a steady voice, "Drive. Take me back to the White estate." The driver nodded and promptly started the car, not daring to delay for even just a moment. "Right away, Mr. White."

Soon, the only trace of their presence was the soft rumble of the car's engine fading into the night, leaving behind a thin, long trail of white exhaust smoke.

As the new day dawned, golden sunlight bathed Violet's apartment. She awoke from a peaceful sleep to the sight of her two adorable children's round, cherubic faces and big, smiling eyes.

The toddlers, delighted to see their mother awake, showered her with kisses and called out in their sweet voices, "Mommy." A surge of happiness washed over Violet. There was nothing more comforting than having her babies by her side. 'She couldn't afford to lose them.'

With this thought in mind, Violet pulled them close and asked, "Babies, why are you up so early today?"

Henry and Nicole usually adhered to a routine schedule. They would continue to sleep even when she woke up around 6 AM for work, typically not stirring until around 8 AM. 'Why had they woken up earlier than usual today?'

"Mommy, your phone was ringing," Henry explained, pointing to the phone by her pillow.

'So, it was her phone that had woken them up?'

She always set her phone to silent and vibration at night to prevent their sleep from being disturbed. Had she forgotten to do so last night?

Reaching under her pillow, Violet found that there had indeed been a call. She had forgotten to set her phone to silent mode. It was Max who had called at 6 AM, just a short while ago.

Surprised by how soundly she had slept, she didn't even hear the ringtone. Releasing her little ones, she first took the twins to Hellen, ensuring they wouldn't cause a commotion during the call, potentially letting Max hear. After leaving them with Hellen, she stepped out onto the balcony to return Max's call.

'She couldn't let anyone else know about the children in her home.'
