Chapter 282 Violet, Where Are You Now? I'm Very Worried
At this time, Brady was in a meeting on the top floor. Max hurriedly ran up but could only report to Brady's assistant first. As the assistant went in to inform Brady, Max anxiously waited outside the meeting room.
Today's events left Max bewildered and caught off guard. Violet suddenly resigned without a word and left, and he couldn't reach her by phone.
Max suspected that something serious might have happened to her; otherwise, she wouldn't have left so abruptly.
While waiting, Max kept sending messages to Violet:
[Violet, where are you now? I'm very worried. Please give me a call.]
[Violet, whatever difficulties you're facing, you can talk to me. Even if you want to resign, we can discuss it. Your commission was high last month. Don't you want to stay? Plus, your three-month probation period has ended. You can become a regular employee now.]
[Violet, I'm really worried about you. Didn't we agree to attend the design collaboration at Elysium Springs next month? Please call me when you see my messages. I'm worried.]
When Max sent this series of messages, Violet had already returned to Ashbourne Manor to play with the babies.
Receiving Max's messages made Violet feel conflicted and uneasy. She didn't want to follow the normal resignation process because she feared that both Max and Brady wouldn't let her go, making it impossible for her to resign.
So, with a heavy heart, Violet resisted the urge to reply. She knew Max was interested in her and was a good person, but she had no choice.
For Henry and Nicole's sake, Violet had to do this.
Later that afternoon, Violet planned to go to the communication company to change her SIM card. She wouldn't use this number anymore.
Noticing Violet staring at her phone absentmindedly, Hellen asked with concern, "Violet, what's wrong? Is the resignation not going smoothly, or is there something else?"
"Nothing," Violet snapped out of it, deleted all the messages Max sent, shook her head, and said with a smile, "The resignation went smoothly. I plan to change my SIM card this afternoon. Otherwise, my former colleagues will keep contacting me, which isn't ideal."
Hellen agreed, noting that keeping the old number wasn't safe, especially with Brady being so powerful in New Future City. "Okay, you go ahead. I'll take the babies for a nap this afternoon."
Violet nodded. "Okay."
At 10:30, Brady finally finished the meeting. The senior executives gradually walked out of the meeting room. Once they had all left, the assistant, Eddy, came out and said to Max, who was waiting outside, "Mr. Green, Mr. Hall will see you now."
Max immediately nodded nervously. "Okay."
"Let's go." Eddy led the way, and Max followed. In the spacious meeting room, Brady sat in the center, wearing a crisp white shirt and black trousers, playing with a custom-made all-black steel pen in his hand.
"Mr. Hall, the designer Violet Devereux from JK suddenly resigned today, so the matter of going to Elysium Springs might be..." Max stammered nervously, "Maybe she can't attend."
"Why did she resign?" Brady narrowed his dark eyes, his entire demeanor making Max shiver involuntarily. Max subconsciously gripped his fingers and stammered, "Mr. Hall, I don't know. I can't reach her by phone."
"I see. You can go back to JK." Brady looked at the pen in his hand and then at Max. Brady knew that Max was interested in Violet and decided not to let him interfere any further.
Max had hoped Brady might help him find Violet, but he knew this was unrealistic. Brady was busy, and Violet was just a small employee of the recently acquired JK.
Realizing his thoughts were impractical, Max decided not to make such an excessive request. He just needed to report the matter.
