Chapter 271 If You Don't Let Me Touch, I Won't Touch You

"Mr. Hall, this is not appropriate." Violet pursed her lips, not wanting to go to his apartment. The memory of being forcefully taken there to watch a movie last time was still fresh in her mind.

She feared that tonight he might insist her to watch a movie again and then persuade her to stay over at his place.

Although Brady was indeed a gentleman and didn't touch her, Violet was very uncomfortable with the idea.

"Let's just choose a restaurant to dine at." Violet insisted.

Brady had no intention of going to a restaurant. He had lost interest in fancy cuisine and was more interested in trying out Violet's cooking skills.

Therefore, he paid no heed to her resistance and, with a magnetic voice, said, "I heard you learned cooking at the Devereux family. Your culinary skills should be decent. Why not come to my place and cook for me to taste?"

Violet's cooking was indeed decent, although not as good as her mother's. She could certainly prepare a sumptuous dinner.

However, Violet didn't want to go to Brady's apartment!

Violet instinctively had resisted the idea of going to Brady's apartment, so she said, "Mr. Hall, I don't want to go to your apartment."

"Are you afraid I'll do something to you?" Brady said gently.

There was a tone of indulgence in Brady's voice that Violet didn't notice.

"No." Of course, Violet wouldn't directly admit that she was indeed afraid he might do something inappropriate.

She bit her lip and said, "Mr. Hall, can you not put me in a difficult position?"

Brady was really amused by Violet's refusal and suddenly leaned in, getting closer to her. The faint minty breath from his thin lips brushed against Violet's face, and his voice became more magnetic as he said, "If I want to have you, I won't use any underhanded means, and I'll be open and honest. Come back to my apartment and cook something. There's nothing good to eat outside."

After saying this, Brady reached out and gently touched Violet's resisting face, speaking in a tone that seemed like an indulgence, "If you don't want me to touch you, I won't touch you."

Violet frowned.

Brady was now touching her.

Violet slightly turned her face away, avoiding Brady's hand, and said, "Alright, I'll cook dinner for you, but after dinner, I have to go home."

Brady withdrew his hand and nodded. "Okay."

During the rest of the journey, Brady didn't make any inappropriate moves and talked to Violet about JK's collaboration with Elysium Springs.

"Have you discussed the trip to Elysium Springs next month with your director?" Brady asked.

"Yes, I have, but I'm not suitable," Violet replied.

Violet was just a small intern, not even officially transitioned after a three-month internship.

How could she take the spot from the company's powerful and experienced designers and agree to go to Elysium Springs?

If she agreed, she would surely face more hostility from her colleagues upon her return.

Although Violet wouldn't actually go, thinking about it, that would be the result.

"Why refuse such a good opportunity?" Brady glanced at her.

"I don't have enough qualifications." And Violet was about to resign, so signing up would be a waste of a spot.

"It doesn't matter if you have enough qualifications. Your skills are pretty good." Brady wouldn't be mistaken. "The wedding dress you designed for Loraine Plahn is quite impressive. Why not give it a try?"

"Maybe next time." Violet didn't want to talk about this perfunctory topic.

"Opportunities don't come every time, so prepare yourself. I'll also be involved in this design collaboration," Brady said slowly.

Violet instantly furrowed her brows, looking at him with some doubt. She thought that Max could handle this kind of collaboration.

Why did he, as the president of the Hall Group, need to attend personally?

"By the way, I'm still investigating the incident where someone poisoned your drink last time. You don't have to worry about anyone else trying to harm you," Brady continued while Violet was lost in thought.

Violet snapped back to reality and looked at this man, and a strange feeling began to emerge in her heart.

Brady, despite being domineering and forceful, wasn't one to engage in idle flattery. When pursuing her, he was sincere and straightforward, always taking practical actions rather than relying on sweet talk.

This strange feeling in Violet's heart grew stronger, making her involuntarily purse her lips and say, "Thank you, Mr. Hall."
