Chapter 391 Asking Him for Help to Retrieve My Mother's Inheritance
"Hey, you gonna chill here for a bit?" Brady strolled over and gave Violet's hair a gentle touch, which was kinda outta character for him.
That little gesture hit Violet right in the feels.
Trying to keep her cool, she replied, "Yeah, I'll hang out here for a bit and then head down."
"Alright," Brady said, "Sorry about earlier. I got a bit carried away. I'll keep it back next time."
Violet didn't wanna dive into that convo, so she blushed and said, "Well, you gotta help me with that thing I asked about."
"I got you," Brady said, ruffling her hair again like he really wanted to spoil her. "Even if you don't come to me for it, I'd still help. You just never asked before."
"I was scared you wouldn't," Violet thought it was better this way, a fair trade. If she didn't give something back, he'd probably hold it over her head when she tried to bounce with the kids.
So yeah, this was better. She gave herself up for Brady's help.
No debts, no regrets.
"You're my girl now. Of course I'll help," Brady said softly.
Those words hit her right in the heart, and Violet bit her lip, feeling her heart race a bit. "Thanks."
"I'll go check on the kids," Brady said, pulling his hand back and heading downstairs.
Violet stayed in the study, trying to shake off the soreness in her legs.
As night fell, stars started popping up in the sky.
Once Violet felt better, she grabbed Nicole and Henry to put them to bed, while Brady was still grinding away in the study.
After she got the kids to sleep, Hellen pulled Violet aside for a little chat.
Earlier, before dinner, Hellen had sensed some serious vibes when she went to the study to find Violet. Even though Hellen wasn't married, she'd had boyfriends before, so she knew what was up between guys and girls.
Hellen was worried that Brady might've forced Violet, which would be a mess.
And if they were still hooking up, it could get even messier.
Violet's rep would be trashed; everyone would think she was Brady's kept woman.
How would she ever get married or find a decent guy?
Hellen didn't want Violet to end up like her, single and lonely forever.
She wanted Violet to have her own family, not rich, just warm and happy.
So yeah, Hellen was super worried.
She took Violet to the bedroom window and whispered, "Violet, be straight with me. Are you really with Brady?"
Hellen's sudden question threw Violet off, and she quickly shook her head. "No, Hellen, why would you think that?"
"Violet, I don't wanna jump to conclusions, but you were in the study with him for ages. What were you guys talking about?" Hellen sighed, looking at her with concern. "You were in there so long, I'm scared he..."
Hellen couldn't finish, not wanting to insult Violet.
"I had something to discuss with him," Violet felt a bit panicked 'cause Hellen was definitely suspecting somethign. But she couldn't admit it. She forced herself to stay calm and explained, "I asked him to help me get my mom's inheritance back."
"Hellen, he's the only one who can help now. Quentin's been looking for evidence, but it's long gone. It's tough for him to help, and I don't know when I'll get it back. We can't just sit around waiting," Violet said.
"You were talking about that?" Hellen was a bit surprised.
When it came to her mom's inheritance, Hellen thought Violet wouldn't tell Brady about it.
