Chapter 1027 There is a Faint Scent of Hormones, Is This Brady's Smell?

Aria got back into the car, and her assistant in the front seat immediately turned around and asked, "Ms. Clark, are we heading back now?"

Aria wasn't in a hurry. She replied coolly, "Let's hang out for a bit." She paused, then pulled out a slim cigarette from a nearby box, placed it between her lips, lit it with a lighter, and exhaled a cloud of smoke.

Aria rolled down the window and looked at the bustling wedding scene not far away.

She smoked and watched.

This wedding—wasn't she supposed to be the bride?

The one standing next to Brady, receiving everyone's blessings, should have been her.

She had endured so many years, gritted her teeth through a prestigious university, and started her own original store. For what?

Wasn't it all for this man?

She wanted to be as excellent and dazzling as him.

But she was too late.

Aria took delicate drags from the cigarette between her fingers, white smoke curling from her bright red lips, blurring her radiant face.

And clouding her mind.

After finishing the last puff, Aria tossed the cigarette out of the car and took out Brady's tie, which she had stolen from the Hall Mansion, from her bag. She held it to her nose and inhaled deeply.

It still had a faint scent of his cologne—Brady's scent?

It was intoxicating and alluring.

Aria greedily inhaled the tie's scent several times before putting it down and telling her assistant, "Drive. Let's head back to the studio."

The assistant nodded, "Sure thing, Ms. Clark."

Aria carefully tucked the tie back into her bag. As the car drove out of the forest park, Aria glanced at the sky outside and said slowly, "Mia, help me prepare a resume when we get back."

The assistant was puzzled. "Ms. Clark, why do you need a resume?"

Aria spread her fingers, painted with red nail polish, and looked at them. "To apply for a designer position at JK, of course."

With her qualifications, getting into JK would be a piece of cake.

She knew that JK had recently been transferred to Violet's name, and she was looking forward to destroying Violet's company.

Not long after Aria left, Brady held Violet's hand, worried she might be upset. "You weren't mad earlier, were you?"

He hadn't expected Aria to have such a low tolerance for alcohol.

"No, she probably didn't do it on purpose." Violet didn't want to make a fuss. Today was their wedding day; why let anything ruin it?

Brady nodded and stroked her hair lovingly. "I didn't expect her to pass out. I was worried you'd be jealous."

"There were so many people watching! I wouldn't be that petty." If she were to hold a grudge, she'd do it privately.

Men should be given some respect in public.

"Okay." Brady relaxed a bit, reassured that Violet wasn't upset. He was really afraid she'd ignore him.

That would frustrate him.

"By the way, why did you change your tie?" Violet asked as she held his hand, ready to check on Matilda. She suddenly noticed his tie was different from the one he had tried on earlier.

"I don't know where the other one went. Couldn't find it." He had intended to wear that tie.

But after searching everywhere, he couldn't find it, so he grabbed a black one instead.

Violet responded thoughtfully but didn't say more.

"By the way, is your dad coming tonight?" He was supposed to come at noon, but he felt unwell and went to the hospital with Ethan for a check-up. He'd come over once he felt better.

Violet nodded, "Yeah, my brother just called. It's nothing serious, just a cold. They'll be here tonight."

"Good." Brady continued to gently stroke her hair, holding her hand tightly as they walked over to Matilda.
