Chapter 113: What Trouble Has this Woman Caused, Who is So Favored by So Many Men?
After swearing profusely, Brady quickly rinsed himself off under the hot water. It cascaded down, flowing over his skin again and again, causing a strong reaction in his body. Instantly, Brady turned off the showerhead, feeling the water droplets clinging to his wet body. He hurriedly walked out of the bathroom, grabbing a bathrobe from his bedroom and throwing it on.
He lifted his hand to touch his brow bone, feeling the tension in his throat. After a moment, his body gradually calmed down, returning to normal. Ha! He actually had sexual fantasies about Violet because of that glass of juice early in the morning. How desperate was he for a woman? Why was he fixated on her?
Brady felt that he might just be lacking a woman for too long, which was why he had such a reaction so early in the morning. It seemed he should try to find a woman who suited his taste and bring her back to show his grandmother.
Relaxing his handsome features, Brady stood in his bedroom for a moment before taking a cigarette from the table, biting it, and with a snap, igniting it. The crimson flame leaped and an azure fog rose. Only then did he dissipate the damn fantasies from his mind, calm down, and immediately call Mr. Taylor to inquire about the paternity test.
Mr. Taylor, upon receiving his call, didn't dare to be negligent and quickly replied, "Mr. Gu, I have arranged for someone to follow up, and they should have a response tomorrow."
"Okay, I understand," Brady Hall softly affirmed, hanging up the phone. He took off the bathrobe and began changing into a new white shirt and trousers.
After changing, as he walked out of the small bedroom, he had already reverted back to his usual self – a calm, elegant, and icy man who kept others at a distance.
At the Splendor Palace, Violet had a serious discussion with Loraine about the style of wedding dress she wanted. Because both of them had similar tastes, they could genuinely chat with each other, unlike with Fanny before.
They chatted for ten minutes, and Loraine was quite satisfied with the ideas Violet had given her. Moreover, she gradually let down her guard around her.
Originally, she would not eat any cakes sent to her by others. But for some reason, she seemed to get along well with Violet, so Loraine instructed the maid to cut a piece for her to try.
The maid immediately brought a delicate cake knife and fork to cut the cake for her. Taking a small slice, Loraine didn't notice the crushed mango bits inside and elegantly tasted it with a small spoon.
However after a few bites, she couldn't continue. Her body started itching, and her throat felt like something was stuck, making it difficult to swallow.
Loraine staggered, holding onto the sofa. This situation frightened the people around her, including Violet. Violet hurried over to support her, but Loraine pushed her away and said with great difficulty, "Do you... Does your... cake have mango?”
She was allergic to mango since she was a child. It could cause her to go into severe shock. They never had mango at home. And this cake didn’t look like it had mango either. She only took a few bites. But there must be mango in the cake, otherwise why would she suddenly react like this?
"Miss Plahn, I'll call Uncle Road to drive," the maid, who had taken care of her for many years, knew her condition and suspected it could be an allergy. She started calling the driver, Uncle Road.
After being pushed away, Violet bumped heavily into the coffee table, causing her great pain. But she held back her tears and expressed concern for Loraine, "Miss Plahn, I didn't know there was mango in it."
Violet thought of Fanny, who had kindly given her the cake early in the morning. So... she was too young after all. Why was she always so carefree when others could harm her? Of course, she couldn't regret it now. The priority was to assist Loraine.
"Miss Plahn, I'm sorry. We'll take you to the hospital," Max didn't know a piece of cake could cause such a severe reaction. He apologized while considering driving her himself.
"No need," the maid hurriedly intervened. "Miss Plahn is a celebrity. Taking her to the hospital could cause a commotion."
After the maid spoke, Uncle Road, the driver, came in and supported Loraine outside with the help of the maid. Max took a glance and frowned, saying, "We should go to the hospital to check on her. This matter can be big or small."
"Yes," Violet understood the gravity of the situation. She was feeling somewhat lost now.
Meanwhile, as Loraine was being taken to the hospital, Max, in order to prevent Mr. Gu from firing Violet over this incident, acted upon his own ulterior motives and called Brady himself to inform him about it. He even took responsibility and offered to take the blame for Violet.
However, his willingness to shoulder the blame did not earn Brady’s appreciation. Instead, he was met with a cold scoff before the call was promptly ended. Brady placed his phone on the table and pondered for a few minutes.
After considering it, he decided to go to the hospital to check on Loraine. He also wanted to see what trouble this woman, who managed to garner the favor of so many men, had caused this time.
