Chapter 279 I Don't Need Your Apology. Where Are You Now? I'm Coming to Find You

Violet took a number for Nicole's brain CT scan and queued up. After waiting for three people, it was finally Nicole's turn.

However, Nicole was too young and still frightened from her fall. She started crying when the scan began, so the doctor had to pause and ask Violet to comfort her first. Once Nicole calmed down, the doctor resumed the CT scan.

After the scan, Violet carried Nicole out, who was now tear-streaked and visibly distressed.

Feeling heartbroken, Violet comforted Nicole in the hospital corridor. Meanwhile, Henry, seeing his sister cry, tiptoed like his mother, gently touched her forehead, and comforted her in his small, disjointed voice, "Nicole, don't cry... let's go home... I will give you toys."

With Henry's comforting words, Nicole stopped crying. She sniffled, looked at Henry with red eyes, and began to respond to him.

Seeing Nicole finally able to speak a little, Violet knew she was feeling better. She kissed her rosy cheek and said, "Baby, you scared me so much."

"It's okay now, it's okay," Hellen sighed in relief.

"Violet, should I buy some yogurt for Nicole?" Hellen suggested, seeing that Nicole seemed fine.

Violet nodded. "Sure, let's each get a bottle of yogurt, but not too much to avoid tooth decay."

Hellen nodded, took Henry's hand, and said, "I'll take Henry to the supermarket outside. You wait here for a moment."

"Okay," Violet agreed. Since Nicole's CT report would take another half hour, she held Nicole and waited.

Hellen took Henry to buy yogurt, while Violet walked back and forth in the corridor with Nicole. Less than 10 minutes later, her phone rang. It was Brady.

Violet freed one hand to glance at the caller ID, frowning slightly as she hesitated to answer Brady's call. She had promised to box with Brady today but had to rush off because of Nicole's situation. Leaving without a word wasn't good.

Violet glanced around the hospital corridor and then at Nicole in her arms. After three seconds of hesitation, she answered the call. If she didn't, Brady might summon her to the CEO's office tomorrow.

"Mr. Hall, what's up?" Violet asked, trying to sound calm and unaware.

"Did you think you can just leave without saying a word? You were supposed to box with me," Brady's voice was low and clearly dissatisfied.

Violet knew he cared about her leaving abruptly. After all, he was Brady Hall.

Taking a deep breath, Violet explained, "I had an emergency, so I had to leave. I'm sorry, Mr. Hall."

"What kind of emergency made you run off without telling me?" Brady's voice remained heavy with disapproval. He clearly wasn't satisfied with Violet's explanation.

Violet knew he didn't believe her but couldn't reveal the truth. She could only say, "Mr. Hall, I'm really sorry. I had a genuine emergency. I apologize."

Brady, leaning against the ropes of the boxing ring, his gaze intense, said, "I don't need your apologies. Where are you now? I'll come to you."

Violet frowned, struggling to find the words. "Mr. Hall, it's not convenient right now..." Before she could finish, Nicole sweetly called out, "Mama... Mama..."

Nicole's voice reached Brady, who immediately frowned. "Do you have a child with you?"

"No, what child?" Violet, panicked, quickly covered Nicole's mouth. "If there's nothing else, Mr. Hall, I'll hang up now."
