Chapter 1020 Professor Moreau, What Kind of Good Person Are You?
"My phone's dead," Emily said, frustrated. Last night, Lucien had taken her phone, and when she woke up this morning, it was completely drained.
She had no idea Austin had been trying to reach her.
"I've got a charger. You can use it," Violet offered, heading to the bedroom to grab it.
Emily followed her quickly.
In the bedroom, she handed her phone to Violet.
Violet plugged in the charger, and since it was a fast charger, the phone powered up in less than a minute.
As soon as it turned on, a bunch of missed calls popped up on the screen.
Violet glanced at it and saw they were all from Austin. "He called you nineteen times last night."
Emily felt indifferent now; the anticipation she had before was gone.
"Do you want to call him back and see what's up?"
"No, too much happened last night. I need to chill," Emily said, knowing her boyfriend would definitely be upset that she had spent the night at another man's house.
"Are you planning to hide? He'll be at the wedding too," Violet reminded her.
Emily paused, realizing she had forgotten Austin would be attending the wedding. Her mood instantly soured. "Alright, I'll send him a message," she said, deciding to at least let him know she was okay.
Emily picked up her phone and started typing a message to Austin.
Meanwhile, Violet was messaging Aria, determined to assert her authority.
After sending the invitation, Violet said, "Someone else is coming over soon."
"Who?" Emily asked, looking up.
"Aria, the owner of the bridal shop where I bought my wedding dress. She's also into Brady," Violet sighed, feeling a bit helpless. "She tampered with my wedding dress. I can't just let her get away with it."
"Mr. Hall sure has a lot of women," Emily chuckled.
Violet agreed wholeheartedly. Brady had a slew of women, and most of them were trouble. She couldn't fend them all off.
"Well, he is quite charming."
After a pause, Violet looked at her. "What did Austin say?"
"He didn't say much, just that he's coming here to see me," Emily guessed he might not want to discuss last night's events over the phone.
But she didn't want to see him right now.
After what happened, she knew her relationship with Austin might be over.
"I don't want to see him for now."
"Okay," Violet said, not wanting to interfere in her affairs.
Brady had mentioned that Lucien was handling it.
Perhaps it was better for him to handle it himself rather than involve her.
"Why don't you help me with the wedding dress?"
Emily nodded, put down her phone, and accompanied Violet to the walk-in closet to sort out her wedding dress.
Meanwhile, at the university campus.
After sending the message to Emily, Austin immediately requested half a day off from the principal.
He needed to go to the Hall Mansion to see Emily.
Regardless of whether she had slept with Lucien or not, he didn't care. He couldn't let Emily slip away.
Emily was his ticket into high society.
So, even if Emily had slept with Lucien, as long as she wasn't pregnant, he would accept it.
Still, as a man, he felt a bit humiliated.
He had worked tirelessly for the Hart family, only for Lucien to swoop in and take advantage.
He would definitely get his revenge.
After finishing his leave request and returning to his office, Austin saw Lucien standing there.
Seeing this more handsome man, Austin's anger flared.
He clenched his fist and took a few steps forward, ready to punch Lucien.
But before his fist could land, Lucien countered with a punch of his own.
Austin's mouth started bleeding instantly.
Lucien looked at him coldly, retracting his fist with disdain. "Mr. Roberts, Emily is a good girl. This is your first warning. If you mess with her again, I can make sure you lose your manhood."
Austin's face turned green at the threat. He clenched his fists but didn't dare to hit Lucien, knowing he couldn't win. He ground his bloody teeth and said, "Professor Moreau, sleeping with someone else's girlfriend doesn't make you a good person either."
Lucien laughed coldly, his eyes glinting with a dangerous light. "Whether she's your girlfriend or not is still up for debate. I'm telling you right now, Emily is mine."
