Chapter 868 Brady Encountered Such a Cunning Man for the First Time
Darian's Apartment
After bringing Violet back, Darian was the picture of a gentleman, offering her coffee and comforting her, as if he were truly kind and gentle.
But if Eddy hadn't told her that the company was trying to take over all the design firms, and suppress JK was being manipulated by Darian behind the scenes.
And that he had sabotaged her reputation in today's design competition.
She might have been touched.
But the reality was, he had changed. She had been blind to thinking he was decent.
Now, looking back, it was inviting trouble.
Violet gripped her coffee cup tightly, staring at Darian with a warm smile on his face, unable to hold back her question. "Mr. Voss, would you destroy others to achieve your goals?"
The question was sudden, and Darian was taken aback. His sharp eyes fixed on Violet, trying to discern her intentions.
But Violet's expression remained unchanged, leaving him puzzled. He could only say, "Of course not."
"I didn't think you were that kind of person." She said.
"Violet, don't drag out the divorce. He's already filed, and I'll get a lawyer for you right away." Darian was impatient, wanting them to finalize the divorce within days.
Seeing his eagerness for her to divorce, Violet's gaze turned cold.
"I'll get you the best lawyer. You have three kids with him, and the Hall family won't give you custody easily. We can fight for one, like Nicole," Darian continued.
Violet's brows furrowed.
Why did he keep mentioning Nicole? And how did he know about her?
She was about to ask when the apartment's doorbell rang.
Violet instantly looked towards the door. It must be Brady bringing someone.
"Mr. Voss, someone's at the door," Violet reminded him.
Darian, annoyed, got up to answer it.
At this hour, it was likely just a delivery.
So when he opened the door without caution, expecting a delivery...
Brady's long leg kicked him square in the chest, sending Darian sprawling to the floor.
As he looked up in pain at Brady standing at the door, flanked by several strong bodyguards.
Clutching his aching chest, Darian struggled to get up and faced Brady, saying, "Mr. Hall, breaking into a private residence and assaulting someone, I can call the police right now."
Brady sneered, unafraid, and slowly walked in, saying, "I'm here to catch a cheater, isn't that allowed?"
Then he ordered his bodyguards, "Teach this cheater a lesson!"
The bodyguards responded immediately, "Yes, sir."
Darian frowned, instinctively stepping back to defend himself.
But the bodyguards weren't there to hit him.
They spread out, grabbing pillows and ornaments from Darian's home, and started smashing them.
Not satisfied with just the living room, they began searching every corner for things to break.
Of course, the destruction was just a cover.
They were looking for Jade.
"Mr. Hall, this is illegal," Darian said, watching his home being trashed, grinding his teeth in anger.
"I'm catching a cheater; the police don't interfere in domestic matters," Brady said indifferently, striding past Darian towards Violet, grabbing her hand and saying, "Honey, I haven't signed the papers yet. Why are you in such a hurry to come here? Wait till we get home, and I'll deal with you!"
Violet remained silent, letting him act.
Darian wanted to rush over to help Violet, but he saw a hint of coquettishness on her face.
He knew it was a trap.
Well played, Violet. She had learned to deceive!
Brady had corrupted her.
Darian watched them coldly, and as they faced off, the bodyguards found the secret room in the basement.
Jade was inside, unconscious again.
The bodyguards carried her out, and Brady immediately said, "Take her to the hospital."
The bodyguards understood and took Jade to the hospital.
Brady then looked at Darian, coldly saying, "Mr. Voss, anything to say?"
Darian smiled faintly, calmly walking closer, saying, "Mr. Hall, what can I say? How would I know she was here? Don't falsely accuse me."
He had a scapegoat to take the fall. So what if they found Jade?
He would be fine.
"You are truly cunning," Brady said, encountering such a slippery man for the first time.
"Likewise, your acting is top-notch," Darian said, looking at Violet, his gaze growing cold, lips curling into a laugh, "I almost fell for it!"
As he laughed, Violet grabbed Brady, feeling uneasy, "Honey."
"Don't be afraid," Brady reassured her, pulling her behind him protectively.
"Mr. Hall, you'd better call the police now, or if Jade dies, you'll be a suspect," Darian said calmly, sitting on the sofa and pulling out a piece of paper from a drawer.
It contained Jade's written statement about being kidnapped and her fingerprint.
