The scissors plunged into Ava's body, and blood instantly spread across her dress.
The excruciating pain hit her like a tidal wave, causing Ava to collapse onto the floor.
She knew she wouldn't die; the Hall family had the best medical team, and they could save her immediately. Her goal was to force them to compromise through this drastic measure.
"Ava?" Michael hadn't expected her to be so ruthless, to harm herself like this.
He hurriedly knelt down to help her up, but Ava had already fainted from the intense pain and couldn't hear his calls. Realizing the severity of the situation, Michael quickly picked her up and started shouting for the butler to prepare the car for the hospital.
The butler ran in from outside, his face turning pale at the sight of Ava covered in blood.
He had been with the Hall family for many years and had never seen such a gruesome scene, especially involving Ava.
Seeing the butler frozen in shock, Michael snapped, "Get the car ready! And don't alert Matilda."
He was worried Matilda might overthink the situation.
The butler nodded repeatedly and sprinted outside to prepare the car.
Once Michael had Ava in the car, the butler drove them to the hospital as fast as possible.
The medical team immediately began emergency treatment.
As Ava had anticipated, the Hall family's top-tier medical resources ensured she wasn't in any life-threatening danger, but the ordeal had a significant impact.
Michael didn't dare to criticize her anymore.
Somehow, news of Ava's hospitalization leaked, and soon a swarm of reporters and paparazzi descended on the hospital, eager to capture photos of the former star being treated.
Disliking the intrusion, Michael went to the VIP intensive care unit to wait for Ava to be brought in.
While waiting, he called his son.
He wanted to hear Brady's thoughts on the matter.
The call connected quickly, and after hearing the details, Brady's tone turned serious. "Dad, I'll be at the hospital soon."
"Your mom's view of Violet is unlikely to change," Michael sighed.
"Dad, what are you planning?"
"Once she's recovered, I'll take her away from here. There's some business in America that needs attention anyway." Given the situation, divorce was out of the question. He feared that if they did divorce, Ava might do something drastic.
That would not only be bad for their image but also affect the Hall Group.
"Divorce is off the table. If she pulls another stunt, it could drag you down too."
Brady was silent for a moment before saying, "Dad, I appreciate your efforts."
"It's fine. I just won't be able to spend as much time with my adorable grandkids." Michael was particularly fond of Henry and Nicole.
He had originally planned to stay in the country longer, even considering retiring there.
"Take her abroad for a year to cool off. Violet is due to have her baby soon, and you can come back then. You won't need to handle the American business anymore and can finally take a break," Brady suggested.
Michael agreed, saying, "Once she's discharged, I'll take her back to America."
"Alright."
"By the way, be careful when you come to the hospital. There are a lot of reporters and paparazzi outside."
"I know. I'll hang up now."
"Okay."
After their conversation, Michael patiently waited for Ava to come out of surgery. However, he was unaware that Ava had orchestrated everything, including the paparazzi.
She wanted the media to expose how her 'wonderful' daughter-in-law had driven her to such extremes!
