Chapter 1022 Emily, Please Don't Abandon Me, Okay?
"Ms. Clark, you can go now. There's nothing left for you to do here," Violet said icily, dismissing her without a shred of respect.
Aria's face tightened immediately. Was she being treated like a servant? Summoned when needed and discarded when not?
But she knew this wasn't the time to argue. She replied politely, "Alright, Mrs. Hall. Congrats on your wedding."
"Thanks," Violet replied curtly, turning her back to continue adjusting her wedding dress with Emily.
Aria stood in the walk-in closet for a few seconds, feeling the tension in the air. She knew she couldn't linger any longer.
Suppressing her anger, she turned and left.
As she walked out of the closet, she instinctively headed towards their bedroom.
The bedroom was elegantly decorated, yet still cozy. On the clean nightstand lay some design magazines.
There was also a plain gray tie on the bed.
Aria walked over, picked it up, and brought it to her nose. The mature scent of a man wafted over her, pleasant and familiar. This tie must belong to Brady.
She sniffed it twice before slipping the tie into her small bag.
Then she turned and went downstairs.
As she reached the bottom of the stairs, she saw a stranger being led in by a maid.
Aria glanced at him briefly, not paying much attention, and left with Brady's tie.
Meanwhile, Austin stood nervously in the living room, waiting for Emily to come down and see him.
He was worried that Emily might refuse to see him.
Just as Austin was hesitating, Emily came downstairs.
She didn't want to see him, but he had come all the way to Violet's house. It was particularly inappropriate, given that Violet was getting married today. Emily couldn't let her personal issues disrupt the wedding.
So, she reluctantly came down to meet him.
Violet, fearing they might argue, followed Emily downstairs after finishing the adjustments to her dress.
When Austin saw Emily coming down, he was overwhelmed with emotion and quickly approached her, speaking gently, "Emily, I was worried about you all night. I'm glad you're okay."
Austin deliberately avoided asking for details, not wanting to upset himself.
"I'm fine," Emily said, biting her lip. There were things she wanted to say to Austin, but she feared it would hurt him.
She knew she had spent the night at Lucien's house. Even if nothing had happened, it was still unfair to Austin.
"Austin, maybe we should break up," she said. She had thought about it seriously all morning before making this decision.
She couldn't continue their relationship.
Regardless of whether Austin had spiked her drink, she had slept at Lucien's house. Continuing their relationship would leave a lingering doubt in both their minds.
If they got married and had a conflict, this issue would inevitably come up.
After Emily spoke, Austin was momentarily stunned. He had a feeling Emily might suggest breaking up, but he didn't care. So, after his initial shock, he grabbed Emily's hand and began to speak passionately, "Emily, what are you saying? I won't break up with you, no matter what happens. I love you."
"I know I'm not perfect and don't deserve you, but it doesn't matter. My love for you is enough."
Austin continued with heartfelt emotion, "Emily, you might not know this, but I've never felt this way about any woman before. Until I met you. You're so beautiful and pure, you captivated me. Every day I see you, my heart races."
"Please don't leave me, Emily. You're the only woman I've ever loved."
Austin's emotional declaration almost moved Emily.
She had been sheltered by her wealthy family, protected from the harsh realities of the world.
She couldn't resist Austin's heartfelt words.
However, Violet, standing nearby, frowned.
Austin was too manipulative. To win Emily back, he was willing to say such cheesy things? Did he really only love Emily?
What about his ex-fiancée, who was pregnant with his child?
Was he just playing with her?
