Chapter 423 It's All Violet's Fault
Meanwhile, over at the Devereux Villa, Lilian was stuck at home, unable to return to the Hall Group.
Pelinka tried to get in touch with Matilda, but no luck. She figured Matilda was with Violet.
She got so mad she fainted and had been stuck in bed for days.
She was still fuming, unable to shake off her anger, and it was just making her more and more agitated.
Seeing this, Gerry, who was already back on his feet, felt a pang of heartache.
After all, Pelinka was his mom, and it hurt to see her like this.
So, early in the morning, Gerry knocked on Pelinka's door to check on her.
But Pelinka was so upset she wouldn't listen to reason.
Gerry had no choice but to beg her to calm down.
"Mom, please don't be like this. You need to take care of your health," he sighed, bringing a bowl of porridge to her.
Pelinka glared at him angrily.
Gerry was such a coward. Everyone was trying to deal with Violet, but he acted like nothing had happened since he got better.
Didn't he realize that Lilian had been kicked out of the Hall Group and her reputation was in tatters? What were they going to do now?
"Gerry, you want me to eat? How can I? What about Lilian now? Have you thought about that? Our Devereux Family only has one daughter, Lilian. What are we supposed to do?" Pelinka clutched the pillow tightly, speaking hoarsely through gritted teeth. "It's all Violet's fault, that bitch. I'll kill her. She's ruined us."
Gerry was also anxious but hadn't found a good solution yet. What else could he do? He had to figure it out slowly. "Mom, we'll find a way. Please have some porridge first."
"Get out. I don't want to eat. I'll just die here and see what you do then!" Pelinka snapped.
Gerry's face changed instantly, and he panicked. He was really afraid that Pelinka would harm herself. If something happened to her, he would be the biggest sinner in the Devereux Family. How could he face the elders then?
"Mom, I'll think of a way now, okay? Don't worry, there must be solutions," Gerry hastily promised.
Pelinka leered at him, her anger subsiding a bit. She was just annoyed by Gerry's indifference. She then said, "Then you feed me."
Gerry nodded. "Mom, you need to take care of yourself to deal with this, right?"
Pelinka nodded and suddenly said in a deep voice, "I regret letting you marry Violet's mother, that bitch. She never respected me and even cursed me. She was so vicious, and it is genetic. Violet is treating us the same way. You mustn't go soft on her just because she's your daughter."
Gerry nodded. "Mom, got it. Violet is no longer my daughter. I only have Lilian now."
Pelinka nodded in satisfaction and started having the porridge.
Anxious and unsure, Gerry waited for Pelinka to finish breakfast, then left to find his friends and devise a plan.
Now that Violet had the Hall Group's support, she would definitely go against the Devereux Family.
He had to be cautious.
But just as he stepped out of the room, Lilian came down with a small suitcase.
Seeing this, Gerry asked, "Lilian, where are you going?"
Lilian replied sternly, "I'm going to see Ava."
