Chapter 799 Brady Will Kill Me
Emily didn't have any objections, but when she looked up and saw the intense, possessive gaze in Brady's eyes, she felt a bit intimidated.
Why had the once aloof and cool guy turned so possessive since marrying Violet?
"Are you sure you can go out?" Emily pointed to the man standing behind Violet.
Violet glanced back at Brady, smiled, and said, "Of course. You wait for me; I'll go change." She turned around and, as she passed by Brady, deliberately wrapped her arms around his waist and playfully said, "Honey, can you take care of the baby tonight?"
"I pumped a lot of milk this afternoon and stored it in the fridge."
Brady frowned. He didn't want her to go out at all.
He had planned a romantic evening for them.
They hadn't been intimate for months since the late stages of her pregnancy and the birth of their baby.
Recently, he had consulted a doctor and learned that it was safe to resume intimacy 42 days postpartum.
So, he had secretly prepared a surprise for her in the bedroom.
And now she wanted to go out.
Brady couldn't stop her, so after a few seconds of silence, he reluctantly agreed, "Come back early. You're breastfeeding and need to get enough sleep."
What he wanted to say was that come back early so we can be intimate.
"Okay." With Brady not stopping her, Violet felt free. She happily went upstairs to change and get ready.
She hadn't had the chance to dress up for almost two months.
Every day was a cycle of eating and feeding the baby, dedicating all 24 hours to her little daughter.
Even though Brady never complained, she felt self-conscious.
She preferred to look clean and fresh.
She applied a bit of light makeup, a cheerful orange-red lipstick, and put on a comfortable, fitted dress.
Grabbing her bag, Violet hurried downstairs.
As soon as she reached the bottom, she made a beeline for Emily.
But before she could get there, Brady grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms.
He looked down at her slightly flushed lips, frowned, and wiped the lipstick off with his finger until her lips returned to their natural color. "You're breastfeeding; you shouldn't wear lipstick. It could affect the baby."
Violet was helpless.
"This lipstick is all-natural," she protested.
She had recently switched to plant-based cosmetics.
No additives.
Completely safe.
"Better safe than sorry. Go and come back quickly." Brady didn't give her a chance to argue, holding her hand as they walked over to Emily.
He said sternly, "Emily, take good care of Violet."
Emily, intimidated by his intense gaze, quickly responded, "Mr. Hall, don't worry. I'll make sure she gets back safely."
Violet saw the look in Brady's eyes and, though she didn't say anything, felt a small surge of happiness.
Was Brady worried she looked too pretty?
Men could be so petty.
But she liked this kind of pettiness.
The two women quickly left the house, holding hands, and got into Emily's car.
Once inside, Emily let out a big sigh and jokingly said, "Violet, Brady's glare almost killed me. I was so scared."
Violet laughed, "Don't worry. Even if he wanted to eat you alive, I'd be there to stop him."
"You're laughing! I was really scared." Emily started the car and curiously asked, "How did you manage to make him so attached to you?"
She remembered Brady's reputation for being cold and distant.
How had such a cool, aloof man become so possessive and jealous?
It was a miracle.
"I didn't do anything special. I don't know why he loves me so much," Violet continued to smile.
Emily let out an exasperated sigh, "Stop it. You're making me jealous."
"Seriously, though, are we just going to the spa?" Violet had been cooped up at home for so long because of the baby.
"Where else do you want to go? If I take you anywhere else, Brady might kill me," Emily said, not daring to risk it.
