Chapter 1016 Brady Didn't Tell Her That He Invited Aria?

"How's she doing?" Lucien asked as Seraphine finished checking Emily over.

Seraphine took off her stethoscope and said, "Her heart rate's way too fast, definitely not normal. Looks like she's been drugged."

"I think someone gave her a stimulant," Lucien added, his voice serious.

Seraphine nodded, having already checked Emily's eyes and pulse. "You're right. I'll give her something to calm her down."

"Okay," Lucien agreed, his eyes drifting to Emily.

Emily avoided his gaze. The doctor's words seemed to ring true.

So, she really had been drugged?

Was it Austin?

The thought made Emily's heart ache.

Austin was always so good to her. Why would he do this?

Emily bit her lip and stayed silent, not wanting to say anything more.

Seraphine began the injection while Lucien watched. As the medication took effect, Emily soon felt drowsy and fell asleep, curling up under the covers.

Lucien waited until she was asleep before quietly escorting Seraphine out. He then returned to stay by Emily's side.

The next day was Violet's wedding.

Violet had been up early, getting everything ready for the ceremony. Once everything was set, she remembered her bridesmaid, Emily.

Emily had promised to be there by 7 AM to help her.

It was now almost 8:30.

Why hadn't she shown up or called?

Worried that Emily had forgotten, Violet walked over to the window and called her.

The phone rang, but no one answered.

Finally, just as the call was about to end, someone picked up.

"Emily, where are you? My wedding's today, and I need you to help me with my dress!" Violet exclaimed.

"Mrs. Hall, it's me. She just woke up. I'll bring her over soon," Lucien replied, holding Emily's phone.

"Professor Moreau?" Violet was stunned. What was going on? Why were they together?

And what about Austin?

Had Emily broken up with Austin? Why didn't she know about this?

Violet felt like she was living in a parallel universe, completely out of touch with Emily's life.

"Yeah, it's me. How about I bring her over around 9:30?" Lucien suggested.

"Sure, no problem," Violet agreed, then asked, "Professor Moreau, why are you two together?"

"She'll explain everything. I need to go now; she just woke up," Lucien said before hanging up.

Violet stared at her phone, puzzled. What was going on?

Unable to figure it out, she decided to wait until Emily arrived to get some answers.

Violet put down her phone and went upstairs to check on her wedding dress. Aria had added some accessories to it last time, but she hadn't had a chance to look closely.

Today, she wanted to try it on.

In the walk-in closet, her two maids had already hung the beautiful, ethereal dress on a rack.

"Mrs. Hall, would you like to try it on now?" one of the maids asked.

Violet nodded. "Yeah, I'll try it on, now." She didn't want to wait for Emily. By the time Emily arrived, it would be just right.

The maids carefully took the delicate dress off the rack and helped Violet put it on.

Once the zipper was up, Violet stood in front of the mirror, gently twirling in her dress.

Despite her dislike for Aria, the dress was indeed beautiful. The rose embellishments and the matching rose necklace looked stunning.

As she admired herself, Violet suddenly felt something uncomfortable on her back.

It felt like something was poking her.

Being a designer, she was sensitive to every detail of her clothes.

She asked the maids to remove the dress and then checked the zipper.

At first glance, there was nothing wrong.

But as a professional designer, Violet noticed something off about the zipper.

This was a practice zipper used by design students, meant to be temporary and would fall apart after one or two uses.

It could be reused on another garment, but it wasn't meant for long-term wear.

Realizing this, Violet's face darkened.

Aria must have done this on purpose, hoping to embarrass her at the wedding.

Violet snapped out of her thoughts and asked the maid, "Is Aria on the guest list?"

The maid thought for a moment and replied, "Yes, Mr. Hall added her yesterday."

Hearing this, Violet's expression soured even more. She threw the dress on the floor and stormed out in her robe. Brady hadn't even told her he had invited Aria?
