Chapter 759 It Was Actually Her Script
The next day, when Violet got back to JK, she found a box of sticky rice cakes on her desk with a heart-shaped sticky note on top.
The rice cakes were from her favorite brand.
Violet peeled off the sticky note and flipped it over. It was from Charlotte.
Judging by the warmth of the cakes, Charlotte must have lined up early in the morning to get them.
How thoughtful.
Violet set the sticky note aside, but for some reason, she didn't feel moved.
Not even a little.
Normally, she would be touched by such a gesture, but she just didn't have much affection for the Devereux family.
So, despite Charlotte's efforts, Violet felt nothing.
At most, these actions made her less prejudiced against Charlotte.
But truly moved? Not at all.
Violet placed the sticky rice cakes to the side and prepared to start her work when Brady texted her: [He's going on a business trip for two days and won't be able to spend the evening with her.]
Violet wanted to ask about the sudden trip, but figured it was work-related, so she just wished him a safe journey and got back to her tasks.
After a while, Eddy came by.
He was worried that Calliope might be manipulated by Charlotte, so he took the time to visit JK and discuss the matter with Violet.
Otherwise, he wouldn't know how to persuade Calliope, without upsetting her.
Eddy was at his wits' end and had no choice but to seek Violet's help.
He knocked on the door and entered.
After gently closing the door, Eddy respectfully greeted Violet, "Mrs. Hall."
"Eddy, what brings you here? Is there something going on with Mr. Hall?" Violet had a good impression of Eddy. He was loyal and protective, and Brady valued him highly.
"No, I'm here because of Calliope." Eddy felt a bit embarrassed to bother Violet.
But if he didn't talk to her, he feared Calliope might be taken advantage of.
So, after much deliberation, he decided to come.
Violet frowned, "Calliope? What's wrong with her?"
Could they be disagreeing?
"She's fine. I'm here because of Charlotte and her." Eddy, a grown man, couldn't help but sigh, "Charlotte isn't as nice as she seems. I've warned Calliope, but she doesn't listen. She thinks Charlotte is a good person."
But in reality, his Calliope was too kind-hearted.
She was no match for someone like Charlotte.
"Eddy, did you discover something?" Violet pondered for a few seconds before asking.
She had a vague feeling that Charlotte wasn't as kind and enthusiastic as she appeared, but she had no evidence.
Eddy nodded, "When she joined the company, she used a seductive perfume to get close to Mr. Hall, but he rejected her." Violet definitely wouldn't know about this.
"Also, the sticky rice cakes were part of her act." If Eddy hadn't been worried about Calliope being deceived, he wouldn't have investigated.
He feared Calliope might be used as a pawn.
"Mr. Hall doesn't know about this." Eddy took out his phone and showed Violet the evidence he had gathered.
Violet took Eddy's phone and played the video. In it, Charlotte was seen talking to the person who had stabbed her.
Violet's frown deepened.
As expected, the Devereux family and their members were far from being good people.
"I thought she was different from Lilian." She had almost been swayed that day.
Luckily, she still had some reservations.
Violet handed the phone back to Eddy and said, "I'll talk to Calliope. Don't worry."
Eddy nodded, "Thank you, Mrs. Hall."
Violet smiled, "Taking care of Calliope is the best way to thank me and Mr. Hall."
"Got it." Eddy put his phone away and prepared to leave. Suddenly, he remembered something and said to Violet, "By the way, Mrs. Hall, Mr. Hall is taking the PR team on a two-day trip out of town. Did you know?"
Violet knew. Brady had informed her an hour ago, "Yes, he told me."
Eddy seemed to realize something and quickly said, "Mrs. Hall, you should arrange for someone to keep an eye on things. I'm worried Charlotte might cause trouble." Brady hadn't taken Eddy on this trip, but another assistant, as Eddy needed to handle some leftover issues at Harbor Bay.
Violet furrowed her brow and said, "I understand."
