"What's there to be afraid of? We're not hitting up a nightclub," Violet said with a grin, savoring her strawberry cake.
This time, she wasn't planning to party. Instead, she wanted Emily to join her at an art exhibition.
She needed inspiration and materials to help JK overcome its current challenge.
In a few days, their design circle will host a prestigious design gala that happens every three years.
Each company would have to present a few signature pieces for the competition.
The first-place winner would receive the industry's most coveted designer trophy and elevate their company's status.
Violet wasn't about to miss this opportunity.
Now that Darian was at their company, if their work and hers competed together, they should be able to win.
Emily glanced at her. "Fine, as long as it's not a nightclub."
"Alright." Violet smiled, happy that Emily agreed to join her, and they continued eating their cake.
However, while they were chatting, they didn't notice a man wearing a baseball cap sitting not far from them.
His eyes were fixed on Violet, and his fingers lightly pressed on a piece of strawberry cake identical to Violet's.
He scooped out a small piece and put it in his mouth, savoring it as if he could taste Violet through it.
Ever since Lucien had asked her out, he had been following her.
He knew why Lucien wanted to meet Violet.
It was simply to ask her to keep her distance from him.
He appreciated Lucien's good intentions, but he was determined to have Violet.
Meanwhile, Brady and Eddy had a smooth and safe flight on their private jet, finally arriving at their destination, Stag Mountain, after three hours.
The renowned designer had long since retired to this place, away from the world, no longer participating in any design exhibitions.
Brady wasn't sure if she would agree to help.
But regardless, he had to try. He didn't want a ticking time bomb harassing Violet.
As Brady and Eddy disembarked from the private jet, Ava called him.
"Brady, have you arrived at Stag Mountain?" Ava knew Brady was trying to get Jade Hernandez to help Violet.
But Jade had been out of the design world for many years.
Ava feared Brady might be rejected.
"Just arrived," Brady said, glancing at the towering mountain peaks.
"Brady, Jade might outright refuse you. She's been out of the industry for years. I'm worried this trip might be in vain," Ava continued.
Brady knew there was a chance he might return empty-handed, but he had to try for Violet. "Mom, how will we know if she will help unless we try?"
"I know you're capable, but Jade might not be swayed," Ava sighed. "I can introduce you, but whether she agrees to help is beyond my control."
"Alright, I understand," Brady said, shifting his gaze. "Mom, I'll hang up now."
"Okay, stay safe."
"Will do." Brady hung up and looked at the majestic mountain again, then turned to Eddy. "Find a nearby hotel for us. We'll stay for two days."
"Got it, Mr. Hall," Eddy nodded and started arranging the hotel.
Brady wasn't in a rush to climb the mountain to find Jade. Instead, he called Violet to let her know he was safe.
The call connected quickly.
Seeing his call, Violet didn't need to ask to know he had arrived at his destination. She spoke gently, "Have you arrived?"
"Yes. What are you up to?" Brady asked, a smile playing on his lips.
"Just having a drink with Emily," Violet replied honestly.
Then she remembered Lucien and added, "By the way, Lucien asked to meet me. It's about Darian."
Darian again? He was like a pesky fly around Violet.
Brady's expression darkened. "While I'm away, you need to behave, okay?"
Violet chuckled, "Are you that worried about me? Or are you lacking confidence in yourself? Don't forget, you arranged several bodyguards for me!"
"It's different. You're not as safe without me around," Brady said, feeling a twinge of jealousy.
Especially since she mentioned Darian.
"Then hurry back after you're done. I'll be waiting for you at home, okay?" Violet reassured him with a smile.
"Alright," Brady replied, satisfied, and hung up.
He then went with Eddy to the nearby hotel, planning to gather information about Jade's situation there.
