Chapter 872 Don't Sigh for Other Men

As Violet stepped out of the interrogation room, she couldn't shake the gloom that had settled over her, thanks to Dean.

Maybe she got it—growing up without a dad's love makes a kid super sensitive.

Just like Nicole. She used to be so timid and sensitive, but after Brady came back into their lives and showered them with fatherly love, she gradually got better.

At least Dean had some decency and didn't badmouth Brady.

With no suspicion on him, Brady didn't need to stay at the police station any longer.

As for Darian, since Jade hadn't woken up yet, he was also free of suspicion.

Both were released at the same time.

As they walked out, Darian and Brady crossed paths.

Darian, with a smug grin, slowly approached Brady and said, "Mr. Hall, no matter how capable you are, you're still at my mercy."

"Oh, and as long as I'm free, I'll keep going after Violet."

This blatant provocation and declaration of war didn't faze Brady at all.

He simply smirked back, his tone icy, "Free? Mr. Voss, you're celebrating too early."

"What? Mr. Hall, are you planning to abuse your power and overstep the law?" Darian sneered, raising an eyebrow.

Brady chuckled again, pulling Violet close with a look of disdain. "Mr. Voss, you're overestimating yourself. You're not worth the effort."

"But enjoy your freedom for the next few days. After that, you might never see the sunlight in Crestoria again." With that, Brady wrapped his arm around Violet and walked away.

Darian stood there, his expression darkening.

Never see the sunlight in Crestoria again?

Did Brady think he could take him down?

The Hall Group might be powerful, but Darian wasn't going to be defeated that easily.

If Brady was making such bold claims, Darian was determined to see how he would do. In the police station parking lot, Brady and Violet were getting ready to head home.

Violet glanced back at Darian standing on the police station steps, and couldn't help but ask her beloved, "Honey, what did you mean by that?"

"Are we just going to let him go? Jade got beaten up for nothing?"

Jade was seriously injured, and Darian showed no remorse, only caring about his interests.

Violet was finding it harder and harder to understand him.

Darian used to be kind-hearted. Why had he become so cold and ruthless after a few years abroad?

Brady turned to her, gently brushing her wind-tousled hair aside. "He has a shady past overseas that hasn't been uncovered yet. Plus, that joint design company he's involved with is under investigation for massive tax evasion. Do you think he'll be free to see the sunlight?"

Violet was taken aback. "You mean, he's going to be investigated?"

Brady nodded. "Someone took the fall for Jade's case, so he dodged that bullet. But no one can cover for his tax evasion and overseas misdeeds."

Violet understood, but she sighed heavily. "He wasn't like this before. How did he change so much after a few years abroad, becoming so unrecognizable and frightening?"

"Honey, people change. We can't expect everyone to stay the way we want them to be. So don't dwell on it too much. He's no longer the Darian you once knew." Brady patted her head.

"Come on, don't sigh over other men. Once we sort all this out, I'll take you to a private island to relax."

Violet nodded obediently. "Okay, maybe after a good night's sleep, everything will be better."

Brady smiled and said no more.

Things wouldn't magically get better, at least not for Darian. He would never go back to the way he was.
