Chapter 418 the Culprit is Brady
Matilda's sudden change in attitude made Brady frown, but since she was his grandmother, he couldn't afford to upset her.
Instead, he calmly asked, "Did someone say something to you?"
"It doesn't matter. I just want to know, was Violet promiscuous before?" Matilda snapped.
Brady felt embarrassed to admit it was his fault. After all, he was the one who had slept with her.
"No, she's innocent. These are just rumors," Brady said.
Matilda wasn't easily convinced and said, "I really regret letting you two date. It's my fault for being too hasty. I just wanted you to find a girlfriend, but I didn't expect this."
"And how's your foot injury? Is it serious?" Matilda asked as she went to check his foot.
She had been so busy questioning Violet that she hadn't properly check out Brady's injury. If it was really serious, how would she explain it to the Hall family?
"It's nothing serious. A few days of rest and I'll be able to walk normally," he said.
This kind of injury was nothing to him. There was no need to make a fuss.
"Then go rest immediately. Why are you still standing? You just had surgery. What if the wound reopens and gets infected?" Matilda said worriedly, trying to pull him to the nearby hospital bed.
Brady didn't move and said, "I'll say it again, Violet is not what you've heard. Do you think I wouldn't be able to find out about her past? If she were really promiscuous, would I want her?"
Matilda frowned and couldn't help but scold, "Why are you still defending her? Are you out of your mind? What's so good about her?"
Brady smiled. "I think she's great. She suits me in every way."
Matilda got even angrier. "Brady, don't be foolish. So many people are talking about her. We can't just ignore that."
Matilda didn't believe that his investigation was conclusive. What if it was fabricated?
Besides, Violet's reputation was so bad that everyone knew about it. She just hadn't checked at the time, so she was unaware.
Now, thinking back, she felt a bit regretful.
Brady stated, "If you don't believe me, then I'll be straightforward. If Violet is considered promiscuous, then I'm definitely the main culprit."
Brady decided not to hide anything anymore. He hadn't wanted to discuss this because he had been drugged before having sex with Violet, which was embarrassing. But to clear Violet's name, he had to be honest.
Matilda was confused. "What do you mean? How are you the main culprit?"
"Violet and I were set up. So the bad reputation she got is related to me because we had sex," Brady explained, slightly embarrassed.
If they hadn't been set up, both he and Violet would have continued on their separate paths.
But because of that trap, they got entangled and ended up where they were now. Despite hating what happened, Brady had to admit he was grateful for it; otherwise, he wouldn't be with Violet now.
After Brady explained, Matilda looked at him in shock, as if she had heard something unbelievable.
She had only listened to Pelinka and hadn't thought it through. Since Pelinka had confirmed Violet's promiscuity, Matilda saw no reason for her to lie about such a shameful matter.
But she hadn't expected the truth to be like this. It turned out Brady was indeed the main culprit.
