Chapter 922 I Want Our Guest to Taste the Flavor of Red Ants

"Do you remember what happened before you passed out?" Brady asked, his eyes locked on the manservant, his voice low and intense.

The manservant, clearly shaken, quickly looked down and stammered, "Before I blacked out, two people came in looking for Julie. Mrs. Hall tried to stop them from taking her, and then one of them knocked me out."

He had no clue what happened after that.

"An argument? Was Violet hurt?" Brady's concern was palpable.

The manservant thought for a moment, then shook his head quickly. "No, she wasn't hurt."

"Do you remember what they looked like?" Brady pressed. He doubted they'd send just any thugs to grab Julie.

"One of them looked like a typical Vesperian, and the other was mixed-race, like Julie," the manservant replied, still trembling.

He was terrified Brady would blame him for failing to protect Violet and Julie.

Brady's brow furrowed.

That organization was mostly Vesperians, but the leaders' family was mixed-race, with Eldorian roots.

Years ago, some Eldorians had crossed the sea to Vesperia for trade. A noble Eldorian girl married the leader of the organization, and since then, the leaders' family had always been of mixed heritage.

So, if he wasn't mistaken, one of the people who came was Miles.

The nephew of the leader Lance had killed.

He was also the most promising future leader of the organization.

Years ago, Brady and Lance had infiltrated the organization, and Brady had fought this man. He was ruthless and almost as skilled as Brady. Brady had barely managed to hold his own back then. Who knew how much stronger he had become now?

If he had improved, Brady would have had a real challenge on his hands.

As Brady pondered this, Arthur asked, "Brady, do you know those two?"

"I know one of them," Brady snapped back to reality, glancing at Arthur with a deep frown. "Miles, the organization's most formidable assassin. And the nephew of the leader, Lance killed."

"You've fought him?" Arthur was slightly surprised. He knew a bit about Brady's service in Vesperia, but not the full extent.

"Yeah, he's a tough opponent," Brady said, rubbing his temples. "We'll question him as soon as Eddy brings him in."

"I'm not entirely confident I can win." But even if he couldn't win, he would fight to the death to save Violet and Julie.

Arthur fell silent for a moment.

It seemed this situation was quite tricky. After a pause, he said, "It's okay, I'll be with you."

"Good."

The two men didn't say much more; each was lost in their thoughts, trying to come up with a plan.

Before long, Eddy and the island's manservant brought in the struggling Vesperian man.

The man had a defiant look, clearly unwilling to divulge any information.

Brady wasn't one to give up easily. His years in Vesperia had taught him a few tricks for dealing with these people.

He slowly walked over to the man, who was now kneeling, held down by the others.

Brady drew a sharp knife from his waistband, lifted the man's chin, and said coldly, "Tell me, where is your hideout?"

The man closed his eyes, showing no fear of the knife, his expression saying he was ready for whatever came.

"Not talking? You'd better think carefully. I won't let you die so easily," Brady said, then looked up at Bob. "Bob, go get the red ants. I want our guest to experience the red ants."

Red ants had a slow-acting toxin. Their bites wouldn't kill, but they would cause excruciating pain.

It was like being slowly flayed alive.
