Chapter 202 It Was Gone, All Because of Violet
Loraine Plahn lingered by the poolside after her call with Brady Hall, lost in thought. After a while, she turned and made her way back into the villa.
Leana was lounging on the couch, peeling an orange. As Loraine entered, she looked up and asked, "All done? Did you tell him off?"
"Super busted," Loraine replied, a playful smile gracing her lips as she indulged in the jest with her friend.
Despite her light-hearted response, a pang of guilt twisted within her, especially concerning Leana. She felt a sense of unease about discussing Brady, her brother, behind his back. Loraine decided it would be best to feign ignorance in the future.

Meanwhile, at JK Design Company, Violet Devereux was engrossed in her work. Hunched over her desk, she was finalizing the last design draft for an elderly client when a call from Emily Hart interrupted her.
Emily must have seen the online messages. Even though Brady Hall had managed to take them down, someone must have noticed them.
"Violet, are you okay? I saw the news about you and Loraine Plahn this morning," Emily expressed her concern, putting her own business affairs on hold to check on Violet.
"Could this affect you somehow?"
"If things aren't clarified or if the truth isn't made public, I might never be able to work as a designer again," Violet admitted, her voice trembling slightly.
"Don't talk like that! I definitely believe in you," Emily reassured her. "And who says you can't be a designer for the rest of your life? I'm here, aren't I? When I start my own company, I'll open a design firm, and you'll be my chief designer."
Emily's comforting words felt like a warm current running through Violet's heart. A blush crept into her cheeks as she fought to control her emotions, "Thank you, Emily. Having you as a friend means the world to me."
"Don't have to thank me; it'll only make me mad," Emily teased. "Seriously though, I wasn't kidding about starting my own company. I can't depend on my parents forever, right? So, don't say thank you so soon—just come work for me and help this boss of yours put up some impressive numbers."
"Okay."
"By the way, when are you coming to look at the house?"
"With this incident, I'm thinking of checking it out after everything settles down."
"No problem, my house is always ready for you. You can move in whenever you're ready."
"Okay..." Violet responded softly, feeling another wave of warmth in her heart. Having Emily as a friend was truly one of the greatest blessings life had given her, aside from Henry and Nicole.
Violet set down her phone, gently biting her lip as she reached for a tissue to dab at her slightly reddened eyes. After a moment, she stood and headed to the break room to pour herself a glass of water.
Once there, she filled a cup from the water cooler. As she did so, Hollis Sutton, a fellow designer, walked in to make tea. Seeing Violet, Hollis felt a surge of irritation.
She had just lost a $150,000 deal due to a client cancellation. The commission from that deal would have been ten thousand dollars. Now, it was gone, all because of Violet.
The more Hollis thought about it, the angrier she got. She had never held much animosity towards Violet before, but personal interests had a way of changing things.
Without warning, Hollis threw the remaining tea from her cup onto Violet’s blouse, soaking her pink shirt instantly. "Thanks to you, Violet Devereux, I've lost my order. Clients are cancelling on me. How can you still have the nerve to stay at JK?”
"It wasn't me," Violet responded. Despite her wet shirt, she put on a cool facade but spoke firmly nonetheless.
