Chapter 837 Their Sincere Love Moves Him All the Time
Stag Mountain was pretty remote, so there weren't any fancy hotels nearby. The best place Eddy could book was just a regular motel.
For Brady, who was used to staying in five-star hotels, this was quite a downgrade.
But for his Violet, he was willing to make the sacrifice.
He lowered his standards and stayed with Eddy in this old hostel.
Eddy knew it was a bit of a stretch for Brady, but it was the best accommodation they could find near Stag Mountain.
Eddy admired the genuine love between Brady and Violet, always supporting and deeply loving each other, and tirelessly making sacrifices for one another.
Their sincere love always moved him.
He thought that if he ever married Calliope, he would treat her well.
Eddy snapped out of his thoughts, quickly completed the check-in process, and handed one of the best room keys to Brady. "Mr. Hall, our room's on the third floor."
Brady took a look around the motel's surroundings, accepted the key card, and said, "Go ask the owner about Jade."
Eddy nodded and hurried back to the front desk to inquire about Jade from the owner, a woman with curly, reddish-brown hair and somewhat seductive makeup.
"Excuse me, ma'am, could I ask you something?"
The owner was settling a bill. When she heard Eddy's voice, she looked up and saw the handsome young man from earlier.
She couldn't help but smile brightly. "Sure, what do you need?"
There weren't many travelers staying at Stag Mountain.
Occasionally, some hikers from big cities would come, but none as handsome as these two today.
The owner couldn't help but take a few more glances.
"I'm looking for someone, Jade Hernandez. Have you heard of her?" Eddy coughed lightly, wearing a polite smile.
The owner had heard of her, but she had never actually seen her.
She had only heard her husband mention that some kind of national treasure had come to Stag Mountain.
She had wondered at the time. How could a national treasure be a person?
Later, she learned that the so-called national treasure referred to Jade's high level of design skills, making her as rare as a national treasure.
Jade had come to Stag Mountain to retire and enjoy the pleasures of nature.
Of course, over the years, many people had come to inquire about her, and the owner had been asked countless times.
It was annoying, and if it were anyone else asking, she wouldn't want to answer.
But seeing that today's inquiries came from two such handsome men, she reluctantly decided to chat with them.
"Yeah, there's someone like that, but she lives up in the mountains and rarely comes down. If she needs anything, she asks the residents to help with the shopping." The owner adjusted her curls and pursed her lips.
"Anyway, since she moved here, none of us have seen her."
"She never comes down?" Eddy was a bit surprised. How isolated could she be?
She could endure the loneliness and live up there for so many years without coming down?
"Of course not. If she came down, we would know, wouldn't we? There are so few people here." The curly-haired woman also found Jade quite strange.
Was it some weird city-dweller quirk?
Just to satisfy the feeling of being close to nature?
Giving up the good living conditions in the city to move here alone?
She, who had always lived in the mountains, couldn't understand it.
If she had money, she would move to a big city right away. Why stay in this rundown place?
"Ma'am, do you know if anyone has visited her up there?"
The owner snorted, a bit sarcastically. "Of course, but I've heard that most of them didn't get to see her and left disappointed."
"I don't understand why so many people come every year to see an old woman. Just because she's a national treasure designer?"
The owner mocked ignorantly.
Eddy didn't comment, continuing to ask for the information he wanted. "Do you know if Jade has any hobbies?"
"How would I know?" The owner found it amusing. She had never seen Jade, so how would she know her hobbies? But she did know Jade liked fish.
"I don't know her other hobbies, but I know she likes fish."
"Alright, thank you." Eddy couldn't get any more information, so he decided not to waste any more time.
After thanking the owner, he went back to report to Brady.
