Chapter 977 Austin Is Actually a Complete Bad Guy
Time was flying; it was almost time for Violet High School's reunion.
Over the past few days, Austin had been actively reaching out to a doctor friend abroad. Once he had set up an appointment, he passed the information to Emily's dad, Douglas. Douglas, being a cultured man, had a certain fondness for Austin.
Knowing that Austin had gone to such lengths to connect him with a heart specialist in America made Douglas like his future son-in-law even more.
Emily had decided to completely give up on Lucien, so she had been trying to go on more dates with Austin.
Everything seemed to be heading towards a perfect outcome.
But some things were destined to go off track, like a train derailing.
The day before the reunion, Austin reached out to Brady, asking if he wanted to grab a coffee.
Brady wasn't too fond of Austin, finding him a bit too calculating, so he made an excuse and declined the invitation.
After turning down Austin's invite, Brady felt even more that Austin was too goal-oriented.
Why would a college professor be so eager to meet and discuss business with him?
Was he preparing to marry into Emily's family?
Or was he planning to take over Emily's family business?
It wasn't out of the question.
Emily's family was quite influential, and since Emily was an only child, someone would need to manage the vast estate in the future.
It made sense that Austin might have ulterior motives.
Austin's family had always been academically inclined, with limited financial backing.
If Austin wanted to enter the business world, Emily would indeed be a great stepping stone.
Brady pondered for a while, thinking about how Emily had always looked out for Violet. If Emily were to be deceived, Violet would definitely feel bad.
So, he sent Violet a message. [Honey, how's the wedding dress shopping going?]
Violet was busy preparing for the reunion. She wasn't too keen on going, but thinking about Lucien, she decided to support Emily and make sure Willow didn't cause any trouble.
Seeing Brady's message, she replied: "You ask me about my wedding dress every day! You're going to ruin the surprise!"
Brady chuckled and replied, [Just checking on your progress. Also, I wanted to talk about Austin.]
Violet was surprised. [What about Austin?]
Brady said, [He texted my assistant this morning, asking me to grab coffee. Isn't it odd? A professor wanting to discuss business with me?]
Violet frowned. What was Austin up to? Wasn't he doing well as a professor? "Did you agree?"
Brady replied, [No, I don't meet with just anyone.]
After all, being the CEO of the Hall Group wasn't just for show.
Violet frowned, [So, what are you trying to say? Do you think he wants to go into business?]
Brady replied. [It's possible. Also, there's something I haven't told you because I didn't want you to tell Emily and cause any issues.]
Austin had recently become quite favored by Emily's parents.
If Violet tried to stir things up, it would likely backfire.
What else was there? Violet was curious. What did Brady know? [What do you know?]
Brady replied, [When Austin was teaching out of town, he got engaged to a girl. Later, he broke off the engagement. Not many people know about it unless they specifically investigate.]
But that wasn't the main point.
The girl had been pregnant at the time. Austin had pressured her to get an abortion so he could transfer back to New Future City.
The girl had secretly kept the baby.
Austin still didn't know he had a child.
"The girl was pregnant when he broke off the engagement. He pressured her to get an abortion, then left. She secretly had the baby and raised it on her own. Austin has no idea."
Violet was completely shocked. Austin was a total scumbag!
He had hidden it so well, and she had thought he was a decent guy!
She felt like a fool.
