Chapter 677 Someone Had to Pay for Lilian's Suffering

As the news spread, the Devereux family was in chaos.

Eileen glared at the information online. She wasn't sure if the Lawson family was behind this, trying to intimidate her. But the more they pushed, the more determined she was not to let Juniper off the hook.

Lilian was suffering in prison, and since she couldn't get to Violet, she decided someone else would have to pay.

After reading the news, Eileen tossed her phone onto the table and turned to Pelinka. "No matter what happens, we can't turn back now. I need you to back me up."

Pelinka, however, was hesitant. She felt this was getting too risky.

"Eileen, maybe we should let Juniper go? We can find another way to deal with Lilian's situation," Pelinka suggested. She was old and didn't have many years left, but she wanted to live long enough to see her son released from prison.

If they harmed Juniper, she knew she'd end up in jail too. And she wasn't willing to take that risk.

"We've already kidnapped her. How can we let her go now? Even if we did, we wouldn't escape the consequences," Eileen said firmly. "Haven't you seen the news about Juniper's disappearance? Do you think the police would just let us go?"

"It's better than harming her," Pelinka argued, trying to stay rational."Eileen, listen to me. Let her go. If we release her now, even if the police investigate, our punishment won't be as severe," Pelinka persuaded.

Eileen scoffed, not wanting to hear any of it. Her mind was set on saving Lilian. Without Lilian, what was the point of living?

"If you're scared, then don't get involved," Eileen said coldly. "I won't rat you out."

Pelinka frowned, sensing something bad was about to happen.

Eileen was determined to see this through, and Pelinka didn't want to interfere.

"Fine, do what you want," she said. "But I'm going to stay with a friend for a while." She stood up, planning to pack some things and lay low at a friend's house.

She didn't want to go down with Eileen. She needed to stay alive to see her son Gerry get out of prison.

Eileen watched Pelinka prepare to leave, and a malicious thought crossed her mind. She grabbed a heavy glass ashtray from the table and struck Pelinka on the back of the head.

Pelinka, already frail with age, couldn't withstand the blow. Blood immediately started to flow from her forehead, and she turned to look at Eileen in shock before collapsing to the floor within seconds.

Eileen panicked, unsure if Pelinka was dead or just unconscious. Fear and adrenaline surged through her as she struck Pelinka a few more times with the ashtray to make sure she was dead.

She then dragged Pelinka's body to the freezer and hid it inside. After cleaning up the bloodstains on the floor, she calmed herself down.

Eileen grabbed a sharp knife from the kitchen and headed to the basement. She needed Juniper to call James.

No matter what, she was going to force him to help get Lilian out of prison. If he refused, then there was no other choice. Someone had to pay for Lilian's suffering.
