Chapter 29 Who was the kind-hearted person who helped her last night
"You're awake?" he asked. Last night, he had planned to stay in the presidential suite to take care of her.
However, considering that they were unrelated male and female, and that she was just a young girl who had recently graduated, it was inappropriate for him to accompany her.
So, he took care of her for a while and then went to the neighboring room. He planned to come and see her when she woke up in the morning.
"Mr. Green?" Violet looked at Max, who was holding the room card, her eyes widening. "How...?" How did he have this room card? What exactly happened last night? Especially since she was wearing a hotel bathrobe, with nothing inside, Violet felt helpless. It was as if she had lost her memory and couldn't remember anything.
"Ms. Devereux, don't worry, I'm staying next door." Max saw Violet's terrified expression and guessed that she might have thought that he was staying here with her, so he quickly explained.
Oh... so Mr. Green didn't stay with her. But something still didn't seem right... How did she end up here? Violet anxiously grasped the blanket and said, "Mr. Green... how did I end up here last night? I don't remember anything that happened."
"Ms. Devereux, last night... I'm sorry." When Max mentioned last night, he immediately felt remorseful. It was because of his own selfishness that he brought her to a party full of perverts, almost causing her to lose her innocence. Max felt extremely guilty deep down.
"I didn't know someone would tamper with your juice and make you faint. But it's okay, I asked the housekeeping staff who helped you change clothes, and she said that a kind-hearted person helped you open this room, and then she helped you change your clothes. You don't have to worry."
"Oh." Violet nodded with a headache. It seemed like nothing happened to her last night? Thinking of this, Violet couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief and reached out to pat her chest.
As she patted, she realized that she was engorged with milk again. She had fallen asleep last night without pumping. Now it was painful. Violet couldn't possibly tell Mr. Green about her engorged breasts, so she said, "Mr. Green, I need to change clothes..."
"Alright, I'll step out." Max politely placed the room card on the coffee table and prepared to leave.
Suddenly, Violet remembered that she hadn't stayed at home overnight. Her aunt and the babies must be worried about her. She quickly said, "Mr. Green, can I take half a day off? I want to go home and check on my family." Max certainly wouldn't object to her taking time off. The events of last night made him realize the importance of her family.
Full of self-blame, he will definitely take better care of her in the future and will not bring her to social gatherings anymore. "It's okay, you can take a leave. I won't bring you to social gatherings anymore, sorry."
Violet didn't blame him for it, saying, "It's alright." Work always involves socializing. It's just that she was careless last night and didn't notice someone tampering with her juice.
Max nodded and went out first, saying, "Go change your clothes." The door to the presidential suite slammed shut.
Violet immediately lay down flat. Her eyes stared blankly at the ceiling. Who was the kind person who helped her last night? And who was generous enough to give her the presidential suite? Violet really wants to know... she'll be grateful to them when she finds out.
Violet finished tidying up the presidential suite and quickly returned to her aunt's apartment.
Her aunt called her many times last night.
She had fallen asleep and didn't answer any of them.
Her aunt must have been worried sick.
Violet arrived at the door of the apartment building in no time and proficiently took out her keys to open the door.
Her aunt, who was playing with the two darlings in the living room, heard the sound of the door opening and guessed that it must be Violet, immediately getting up to greet her.
The door opened.
Sure enough, it was Violet.
Her aunt's expression changed instantly from delight to concern. She grabbed Violet's hand and checked her from top to bottom, making sure there were no visible injuries before finally asking with relief, "Violet, where were you last night? I called you so many times, but you didn't answer. I was so worried."
If she didn't come back today, she might have called the police.
"Aunt, I'm sorry... I had a party last night... We were trying to attract clients, so we spent the whole time talking about our company's designs... We talked until late..." Violet rarely lied, unless it was a special circumstance.
Just like now, she could only lie to her aunt, saying, "Our boss asked us not to answer calls, so when you called... I didn't receive it."
Violet explained incoherently and nervously, and her aunt trusted her.
There was basically no suspicion, only saying, "Oh, then you didn't sleep all night, go rest for a bit."
"By the way, are you not going to work today?"
"No, we have half a day off, I still have to go to the company in the afternoon." Violet nodded and went to the living room with her aunt.
Her two little cuties were sitting on the living room floor playing with building blocks.
Violet walked over, and when the two little babies saw their mother, they all wobbled to their feet and reached out their chubby little arms to hug Violet, sweetly calling out, "Mommy... Mommy..."
"Baby... Mommy is sorry... I didn't spend time with you last night." Violet squatted down, apologizing to her babies with a heavy heart, holding Henry and Nicole with one hand each.
Henry and Nicole could understand their mother's apology, but they didn't speak much yet.
They could only babble and tightly hold onto Violet.
