Chapter 281 There Isn't a Woman Brady Can't Handle
After coming down from the apartment, Brady didn't call Violet again. Finding out where someone had moved was easy for him, there was no need to ask too many questions. But did she move on purpose to avoid him, or was it for some other reason?
Brady realized he hadn't had time to do another paternity test.
He guessed Violet might really be trying to avoid him. His eyes darkened with intrigue—her evasion only fueled his interest.
In this world, there wasn't a woman Brady couldn't handle, including Violet.
At the hospital, after receiving Nicole's brain CT scan, the doctor took a quick look and found no major issues. Relieved, they went home.
Back home, both Nicole and Henry were already asleep. Violet gently carried the two little ones to the bedroom and settled them in. Emily texted her, saying she wouldn't be coming back to stay tonight; she was staying at her parents' house.
Violet replied, "Got it," and then went to take a shower. She was exhausted from running around all day because of Nicole.
The next day, golden sunlight warmed the luxurious villa of Ashbourne Manor.
Violet got up early to prepare baby food. After finishing, she ate a little and went to the company. Today, she had to give the design drafts to Pelinka. After handing over the drafts, she would submit her resignation letter.
Soon, Violet wouldn't have to go to the Hall Group anymore.
She arrived early at the company, placed her prepared resignation letter in Max's office, and then took the design drafts to Matilda's villa to meet her.
Matilda knew Violet was coming this morning, so she had her maid prepare exquisite pastries to entertain her. She sat happily in the small garden, waiting for Violet.
Around 9 o'clock, Violet finally arrived at Matilda's villa. Just as she entered the grounds, she saw Matilda, elegantly dressed in a comfortable silk cheongsam, sitting in the small garden, sipping tea and playing with her pet dog.
Violet walked slowly along the wooden path towards Matilda.
When she reached her, Violet looked at Matilda and politely greeted her with a slight bow. "Ms. Hall, I'm here."
Matilda looked up at Violet, and a big smile spread across her loving face. "Ms. Devereux, you're here! Please, have a seat."
"Thank you." Violet sat down on the chair opposite her. "Ms. Hall, I've prepared the design drafts. Could you please take a look and see if there are any issues?"
Violet handed the drafts to Matilda, who took a look and smiled. "Ms. Devereux, your designs are to my liking. Let's go with these."
Moreover, Violet's appearance was also the type that Matilda liked.
"Alright, I'll call our design department's tailor later." Matilda's lack of fuss over the designs relieved Violet.
"By the way, you came so early. Have you had breakfast?" Matilda continued to ask.
"I ate at home," Violet replied.
"Even so, try some of the desserts. I had the maid prepare them for you." Matilda picked up a piece of cake and handed it to Violet like she was spoiling her daughter-in-law.
Violet couldn't refuse, so she took a bite. It was deliciously sweet.
"If you like it, have some more," Matilda encouraged with a smile.
Violet shook her head, feeling embarrassed to eat more. "Ms. Hall, I have some things to attend to. May I leave now?"
Ms. Hall felt a bit reluctant. "Are you leaving so soon? Stay for lunch."
"Sorry, I can't. I have to get back to work." In fact, Violet was afraid of running into Brady, who occasionally visited Matilda.
"Oh, I see. That's fine. Come back and visit me when you have time," Matilda said with a smile. "You're always welcome here."
Violet could tell that Matilda was genuinely kind to her, so she nodded slightly with some embarrassment. "Thank you, Ms. Hall."
After saying that, she picked up her bag and left.
It wasn't until she was outside the villa that Violet breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at the morning sky, she decided not to go back to JK anymore. Over the next few days, she would stay at home and spend time with Henry and Nicole.
Then, she would start looking for a new job.
Violet's plan was good, but how could she easily resign if Brady had set his sights on her?
Before 10 a.m., Max saw Violet's resignation letter. He immediately called her, but Violet didn't answer. Unable to reach her, Max had no choice but to inform Brady about her resignation.
Brady had personally selected the team for the design collaboration at Elysium Springs. Max never expected Violet to suddenly resign and disappear.
Naturally, he had to report this to Brady.
