Chapter 36 Brady's home
The butler nodded.
"Lady Hall...Thank you for your kindness...but our company has regulations that prohibit having meals at the client's house." Seeing this, Violet became a little anxious.
How could she stay for dinner?
"Regulations can be changed." The old lady said while taking out her phone, "I'll call Mr. Green from your company."
After a pause, "Don't call me Lady Hall anymore, it's weird, just call me granny."
Violet exclaimed and saw that the old lady was really making a phone call, which made her even more anxious..."Granny...I will go home and have dinner."
However, the old lady had already begun to make her own phone call.
The call was quickly connected.
The old lady immediately said, "Mr. Green, tonight I will keep your company's employee for dinner, is there any problem?"
At first, Max thought the old lady was calling him because Violet's service was not satisfactory, but he didn't expect that the old lady wanted to keep Violet for dinner.
He was stunned for a moment, and then quickly said, "Lady Hall...this...according to company regulations, we..."Max didn't finish his sentence.
The old lady interrupted him, "I am your top client, so the regulations can be changed."
Max fell silent and after a few seconds said, "Okay."
This time, there shouldn't be any major problems with staying for dinner, right?
After hanging up the phone, the old lady turned to Violet, who was anxiously waiting beside her, and said, "Ms. Devereux, your supervisor has agreed for you to stay here for dinner."
Violet instantly thought, if she refused, the old lady might not give her this job.
It's just a meal, right?
It won't be like last time when we were drinking.
After considering it for a moment, Violet agreed, "Granny... then I'll stay for dinner."
"That's great," the old lady smiled happily.
Her hearty laughter echoed in the room when suddenly the door of the cloakroom was pushed open and a familiar voice came from behind them, "Grandma, why are you so happy today?"
"Brady, you're back?" Upon hearing the familiar voice, Lady Hall naturally turned slightly and looked towards the direction of the door.
It was indeed her beloved Brady.
The old lady's face lit up with joy.
What a coincidence today, she just set her sights on a young girl and her precious grandson comes over.
It just happened that the girl was going to stay for a meal.
Could she play matchmaker between the two?
The old lady indulged in her own beautiful imagination.
Violet's face stiffened, almost startled.
How could it be so coincidental?
Brady's home is at Lady Hall's?
And he calls her "Granny"!
Violet felt like a thunderbolt was about to strike her, making her shrink in fear.
Maybe she should leave quickly.
So as not to be mistakenly thought by him that she came to his house on purpose!
"Granny, I suddenly remembered that I have something else to do... I'm sorry... I won't be able to stay for dinner." Violet turned her face, gently smiling as she spoke to the old lady.
The old lady was slightly surprised. "What happened? How did something suddenly come up?"
"Yeah... I just remembered." Violet didn't like lying, but when she did, she stumbled over her words. But today, there was no other choice.
"Oh... How important is it?" The old lady insisted on keeping her for dinner. Otherwise, how could she introduce her precious grandson to a girlfriend? "If it's not very important... stay for a meal, I'll have Brady drive you home."
She even wanted Brady to drive her?
Violet wanted to flee immediately. She didn't even want to see him, let alone have him drive her.
Maybe she should leave quickly.
Violet shook her head with a smile, persistently refusing. "Granny, no need, I'll leave now."
"Your hat, I will design it until you're satisfied."
Violet finished speaking, picked up her bag, ready to leave.
Lady Hall felt instantly disappointed and her expression turned unhappy. "Ms. Devereux, stay and have a meal before you leave? You just promised me earlier."
Lady Hall sounded resentful.
Violet suddenly felt awkward. She wanted to refuse but couldn't bear to look at the old lady's pitiful face.
Why didn't she know that this high-profile old lady could be so kind and warm?
Just as Violet hesitated whether to refuse or not, the man who had remained silent spoke again: "Stay and have a meal with Granny, where are you going? I'll drive you later."
His voice was unexpectedly not as cold as before.
Instead, it was gentle.
Perhaps it was because the old lady was present that he wasn't so aloof and disgusted towards her?
Violet thought to herself.
"I'll go check if the food is ready." Brady's dark eyes landed on Violet like a cheetah.
Violet's heart skipped a beat.
Subconsciously, she averted her gaze and looked elsewhere.
Brady quickly left the cloakroom.
The old lady was aware.
Violet was willing to stay again, immediately taking her hand and leading her to the restaurant outside. "Ms. Devereux, thank you for taking some time to accompany this old lady for a meal."
"You're welcome, granny," Violet sighed inwardly and spoke.
She actually didn't want to stay and have a meal. Especially since Brady was also there. Now she had to stay.
She was afraid that if she refused again and Brady wasn't happy, he would have Mr. Green fire her. That wouldn't be worth it.
"Don't mention it. What important matters do you have later? I'll have Brady take you there so it won't take up too much of your time," the old lady said gently, looking at her.
Violet obediently nodded.
"Ms. Devereux, you see how forgetful I am? I forgot to introduce you to our Brady," Lady Hall and her walked a few steps before she suddenly remembered to introduce Brady. She immediately said, "He is the president of the Hall family, young and promising, only 28 years old this year, and still single."
Violet: ...
