Chapter 413 Violet was just Waiting for Lilian to Crawl over and Beg Her
The once quiet ward suddenly erupted with screams. Oliver was clutching his thigh, which had been stabbed by a silver fork, and he was bawling his eyes out, completely losing it. Tears and snot were all over his face from the pain.
Violet, freaked out by the bloody mess, quickly covered her mouth. She wasn't a fan of violence, especially since, you know, hurting people is illegal.
Worried about dragging Brady into this mess, she said, "Brady, maybe we should call a doctor? We could get into serious trouble if something went south."
Brady thought she was worried about Oliver. His face showed a hint of annoyance, and he spoke in a lower tone, "Are you worried about him?"
"How could I be worried about someone who framed me? I'm worried about you," Violet said, feeling helpless about his earlier remark.
"Really?" Brady's expression softened a bit.
Violet nodded and explained, "I don't want anything to happen to you, and I don't want you to end up in jail because of this."
Brady got it; he had misunderstood her earlier. Smiling, he said, "He won't die. I avoided his major arteries. It'll hurt like hell for a long time, though."
Brady glanced at the still-crying Oliver, his voice turning cold. "Do you understand sincerity now?"
Oliver was in so much pain that his whole body felt like it was going to explode, and his head felt heavy like it was filled with sand. He definitely understood sincerity now.
He no longer dared to underestimate Violet.
Clutching his nearly useless thigh, he crawled to Violet's feet and started begging for mercy. "Violet, I'm sorry about yesterday. It wasn't my idea; Lilian forced me to do it."
Oliver didn't want to take the fall for Lilian. "It was really her who asked me for help. It wasn't my intention to frame you."
Violet, disgusted by him grabbing her foot, quickly moved away and said, "You ruined my reputation. You need to clear my name, or I won't let you off."
Oliver got the message. No matter how much he hated Violet, he didn't dare to underestimate her anymore. He quickly promised through the pain. "Violet, don't worry. I'll clear your name right away. I'll also expose Lilian. I know she's always wanted to frame you. I won't be misled into hurting you again."
Oliver spoke with apparent loyalty, but Violet didn't care. She just wanted him to clear her name immediately.
As for Lilian, Violet would be waiting for her to come crawling for forgiveness. She had enough of being bullied by her, and with Brady's help this time, Violet wouldn't let her off so easily.
Seeing that Oliver had apologized enough, Brady had Eddy take him out and keep an eye on him to make sure he cleared Violet's name. Eddy quickly dragged the nearly half-dead Oliver out, so as not to disturb Brady's meal.
Once Oliver, with his bloodied leg, left the room, the assistant came in to clean up the bloodstains. After the cleaning was done, Brady sat down to continue dining with Violet.
Meanwhile, across the city at the old Hall family mansion, Pelinka arrived at the entrance. She looked up at the luxurious mansion with a hint of envy. The Hall family was the wealthiest in the city, and many girls wanted to marry into this family.
Pelinka thought about how wonderful it would be if Lilian could marry into the Hall family. The Devereux family was on the brink of collapse, and she had to ensure Lilian married into the Hall family, or the Devereux family would be doomed.
Pelinka felt more determined than ever. This time, she had to bring down Violet and help Lilian. She had some connections with Matilda and had recommended Lilian to her. It shouldn't be a problem.
