Chapter 757 His Provocative Gaze in the Video Confrontation Cannot Fool Anyone
Brady stood at the doorway of the study, his gaze dark and brooding as he watched Violet chatting with another man.
The anger simmering inside him was ready to explode.
And Violet, did she forget she had a husband and kids?
Why was she video chatting with another man late at night?
Brady never wanted to doubt Violet's loyalty because he knew she wouldn't betray him.
But he couldn't control other men who might swarm around her like flies, trying to deceive her.
Just like the man in the video right now.
Brady leaned against the door for a moment, then pulled his intense gaze away and knocked on the bedroom door, asking Violet, "Can I come in?"
Violet was startled by Brady's voice and instinctively wanted to end the video call.
But then she thought she wasn't doing anything wrong. If she abruptly ended the call, it would look suspicious.
So, she retracted her hand that was halfway to the screen and turned to look at the man at the door.
"Come in," she said.
Brady nodded and walked in, standing behind Violet.
His eyes darkened as he stared at the man in the video, who was also glaring back at him.
The two men's gazes collided through the computer screen, one filled with defiance and provocation, the other calm and brooding.
An invisible battlefield of male rivalry began to spread through the screen.
Brady, a seasoned businessman, knew exactly what the man's look meant.
Was he trying to provoke him? Did he even know who he was dealing with?
"Sweetheart, who is this?" Brady asked after a few seconds of staring, his voice soft and loving as he gently touched Violet's hair.
"This is Mr. Darian, the genius designer JK hopes to collaborate with," Violet said, sensing Brady's possessiveness in his touch.
She quickly explained, not wanting Brady to misunderstand.
"Really? You've been working hard, sweetheart," Brady said with a smile, though his eyes darkened further.
Why was this man discussing business so late at night? Anyone could see he had ulterior motives.
"It's not hard," Violet replied with a gentle smile.
This display of affection was like a dagger to Darian, who felt a sharp pain in his chest.
He raised his eyes and said, "Since Ms. Devereux is busy, we can talk another time."
With that, he ended the video call.
The computer screen went black, and Violet closed her laptop, ready to get up.
But Brady suddenly placed his hand on the desk, trapping her.
His voice was low and firm, demanding, "Tell me, what's going on with this guy?"
Violet knew she couldn't hide anything from Brady, and she didn't plan to.
After the incident with her mom and James, they had agreed to be honest with each other.
So, she explained, "Darian is a recently emerged world-renowned genius designer. He's considering moving to Crestoria, and all the top design companies want to recruit him. JK wants him, too. As you know, I'm now a shareholder at JK, and I want it to grow. I want you to see how hard I'm working."
"So, Mr. Green and I have been negotiating with him. I don't know why he suddenly wanted to video chat about the collaboration tonight."
Violet's explanation was thorough, and Brady understood.
But he was puzzled.
A genius designer like Darian shouldn't be interested in a married woman with kids. Did he have some unusual preferences?
Brady was certain that this man was interested in Violet.
The provocative look in the video couldn't lie.
