Chapter 598 One Million Dollars, Right? Send Me the Account Details, and Don't Bother Her Again

After Michael left, Violet stayed in the ward with Nicole. Under the specialist's hypnosis, Nicole slept soundly, but who knew if she would wake up crying again?

Violet felt a deep pain in her heart. She had never realized how serious this could be.

But she forgot that Nicole had always been more timid than Henry, getting frightened over the smallest things. This time, Ava bullied her, and although Violet didn't see it, she heard from the maid that Ava had picked Nicole up and tried to throw her out. She had checked Nicole's body afterward and found no bruises.

So she didn't pay much attention to it.

Now Violet truly regretted it. Nicole was so young and must have been extremely scared by the intimidation. Both she and Brady didn't pay enough attention, thinking that as long as Nicole's body was fine, everything was okay. They forgot about her psychological issues.

Outside the hospital room, Brady and Michael chatted for a while before coming in to join her. As soon as they entered, they saw Violet crying.

Brady immediately walked over and hugged her, saying, "Don't cry please. I won't let this happen again."

Violet hugged him back tightly, tears still streaming down her face. "Brady, I can't take her back there."

"I know," Brady said, stroking her hair, "Then we won't go back. We'll have Matilda and the others come to the mansion to see the kids."

"Got it," Violet replied.

"I'll arrange for the best specialists to provide her with psychological counseling. Don't worry, Nicole will be fine," Brady said.

Violet nodded, but the image of Nicole crying and vomiting earlier kept bringing tears to her eyes.

Brady knew she was in pain, so he just held her and comforted her.

After a while, Violet's emotions calmed down, and her phone rang. It was Leah from the entertainment company.

Violet let go of Brady and answered the call.

"Ms. Devereux, is the first draft ready? Our star wants to see it," Leah said on the phone.

Violet wasn't in the mood to discuss work today, so she apologized, "I'm sorry, Ms. Miller. Can I give you the first draft tomorrow?"

To her surprise, Leah immediately responded coldly, "Ms. Devereux, can you postpone today's meal to tomorrow? We have a signed agreement. If you can't deliver the first draft within the required timeframe, you know there's a penalty, right?"

Violet frowned and said calmly, "It's just a first draft, not the final product. Why would there be a penalty for the first draft?"

"Company policy, Ms. Devereux. You need to understand who you're designing the dress for—a star. Do you know how many designers in the country get the chance to design for a star? Don't be ungrateful."

The last sentence was downright insulting.

Violet wanted to cancel the contract on the spot, but she wasn't someone who gave up halfway. So she restrained her anger and said, "Ms. Miller, if the draft must be submitted today, I can only do it tonight." She needed to be with Nicole during the day.

"Our star doesn't have time to wait, Ms. Devereux. I need you to submit it now. Of course, if you don't want to, you can pay the $1 million penalty," Leah said.

"$1 million penalty?" Violet thought Leah was being unreasonable.

It was just a first draft, not the final product.

Just as Violet was about to argue, Brady, who had overheard some of the conversation, was already very angry. He felt they were bullying her, so he grabbed her phone and said, "A $1 million penalty, right? Send the account details over and stop bothering her."

With that, he hung up the phone.
