Chapter 747 Do You Know Who Brady Is

"Thanks for dinner, Professor Moreau. Sorry for all the trouble I've caused lately," Emily said, her pride intact.

He had turned her down so harshly; there was no point in chasing him anymore.

With a firm tone, she grabbed her bag and walked out.

Her feelings for him over the past few months now seemed like a joke.

He didn't like her at all and had made that crystal clear.

If she kept pursuing him, she'd just be humiliating herself.

As Emily walked away, Lucien felt a strange sense of loss.

But he didn't dwell on it. He paid the bill and left the restaurant.

Just as he stepped outside, Emily's car roared up behind him, screeched to a halt beside him, and the window rolled down.

Her eyes were red as she shouted at the man she had admired for so long, "Lucien, did you think I needed you? I won't ever look for you again."

With that, she rolled up the window, hit the gas, and sped off.

Lucien watched her leave, feeling a pang of regret.

He didn't dislike Emily, but he didn't particularly like her either.

The reason he had to reject her was that their families were rivals.

He hadn't known this before, but his grandfather had scolded him, prompting him to arrange this meeting to tell her not to bother him anymore.

It was to avoid a full-blown conflict between their families and to keep himself out of any messy drama.

As Lucien stood there watching, Darian slowly approached from the shadows.

He had been waiting for Violet.

But Brady had come to pick her up, so he hadn't shown himself.

It was only when Lucien and Emily came out that Darian emerged from the shadows, walking up behind Lucien and saying, "Did you clear things up?"

Lucien nodded, "Yeah, let's go."

"You go ahead. I'll leave later," Darian said, planning to stay at the hotel and wait for Violet.

He couldn't believe she had changed so much after getting married.

He remembered her from high school, so pure, sweet, and shy.

She would blush if any boy talked to her for too long, like a delicate white rabbit.

Such a pure and shy girl had changed after marriage.

Darian felt a mix of jealousy and envy.

If Violet had been with him, he could have made her happy every day and night.

Thinking about this, Darian's jealousy flared up, along with a deep-seated resentment that had been festering for years, making his heart ache.

He couldn't let go, even though she was married.

"Do you have something else to do?" Lucien asked, suddenly remembering that Violet was supposed to be with Emily tonight.

But Violet had left early.

Was Darian planning to go after Violet?

Lucien, as a friend, felt the need to warn him, "Darian, she's married. You know that."

"There's no need to walk into a dead end."

Darian smiled faintly, "How could I? Lucien, you're too conservative. In this world, there's no one you can't take."

Lucien was speechless.

"Do you know who Brady is? Don't go head-to-head with him."

If Violet had married an ordinary man, Darian might have had a chance, given his current status.

But she had married the CEO of the Hall Group.

No one could take his wife away.

"Lucien, I know you care about me, but I'm determined to have Violet," Darian said, his voice low and controlled, "So, no matter who it is, I'll try."

"And what if you succeed? You're just not satisfied. You don't truly love her. Even if you get her, what then? She's pregnant," Lucien said, frowning, worried that Darian might ruin his future over this.

He had just established himself on the international design stage, with a bright future ahead.

There was no need to provoke Brady.

Brady wasn't someone to mess with.

If Darian angered him, his design career would be over.

Lucien didn't want to see his friend end up like that.

"Darian, listen to me. Focus on your design work and don't go after Brady's wife."

Darian didn't heed his advice, "Lucien, I'm leaving. I'll remember your words."

With that, Darian turned and walked away.

Lucien watched his friend's solitary figure, his eyes darkening.

He couldn't let his friend walk into a trap. Should he go see Violet?

Warn her about Darian?

The next morning, sunlight filtered into the suite through heavy curtains, casting a faint glow.

In that soft light, the couple on the bed could be seen clearly, sweetly entwined.

Violet's hair was spread out, and she was curled up gently in Brady's strong arms.

She clung to him like a cuddly kitten.

Brady was already awake, but seeing his wife sleeping so peacefully, he didn't want to wake her.

He watched her tender, pure face with a loving gaze, content to let her hold him tightly.

He stayed like that until Violet finally woke up.

She opened her big eyes, and the first thing she saw was Brady's exceptionally handsome face, with deep, dark eyes, a high nose, thin, sexy lips, and a well-defined jawline.

Such a beautiful face, like a movie star.

Even after being married for so long, Violet's heart still raced like it did during their first love.

A good-looking husband not only pleased her eyes but also made her heart race like a first love.

Violet's heart beat faster as she looked at him, her voice soft and sweet, "Have you been awake for a while? Why didn't you wake me?"

Brady touched her soft, petal-like lips, his voice low, "I've been awake for a while, but seeing my wife sleep so beautifully, I couldn't bring myself to wake you. I wanted to let you dream a little longer."

Violet's heart melted at his words, smiling, "When did you become so good at sweet-talking?"

"If you want to hear it, I'll say it to you every day," Brady said, kissing her smooth forehead.

"By the way, what happened last night?" She knew he had been drugged again.

"I was at a business event. They tried to send a woman to me," Brady said honestly, "I didn't want her, so I left to find you."

He paused, recalling the scene from last night when Violet helped him.

His throat tightened, feeling a rush of heat. Violet was truly captivating.

Brady clenched his teeth, controlling the urge, "Honey, you were stunning last night."

Mentioning last night, Violet's face turned red instantly.

She covered his lips with her hand, "Don't talk about last night. I was just helping you."

"I was praising you, and you don't want me to say it?" Brady pulled her hand away, smiling.

Violet's face turned even redder.

Who wanted that kind of praise?

She had only done it to help him.

"So, to repay you, I should do something too?" Brady said, getting out of bed.

Violet thought he was going to help her get ready, so she didn't resist, preparing to get up.

But then he wanted to make love again.

Her face turned bright red with embarrassment.
